Our last blog saw us in Brighton. From here we headed to Italy and the city of Rome. Known as la Città Eterna, or the Eternal City. [View Full Entry]

We stared at the departure board, waiting. Waiting a bit more and waiting yet again. We weren't the only ones - a hundred pair of eyes stared up at the board - all waiting. We were waiting for the platform number to be displayed for our train down to Lancing, East along the Southern Coast from Brighton. Finally a platform number materialised. The throng of the crowd moved simulatanously towards the designated train. However, confusion abound - the train was to split into two further down the tracks. It wasn't clear which section was which and mumbles rose up above the [View Full Entry]

We flew from Glasgow down to London Stansted on February 13th. At Stansted we have directions on how to get to Tottenham Hale train station. We are on our way to meet up with our friends John and Simon who we met in Vietnam and then rather unfortunately for all concerned, travelled with them for near enough six weeks. Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand will probably never be the same again!!! I know our livers certainly won't be. Stansted Airport has a train link down below the passenger concourses, which is where we headed to. We gasped out loud when we found [View Full Entry]

We packed our bags and boarded a plane - destination, GLASGOW. It was exciting to be finally on the way home. We flew from Vancouver to London Heathrow and from there up to Glasgow. Of course, it wouldn't be Heathrow without the 45 minutes standing in line to get through security from one terminal to another. Or being bundled along with the hordes as the huge mass of people throng from one part of the airport to the other. Joyful!!! We eventually made it though and landed on Scottish soil. After speaking with my Aunt Lesley we discovered that my brother [View Full Entry]

Not long until our holidays - hurrah. We can't wait and looking forward to the break and getting to see friends and family back home. Paisley won't be quite the same without my Grandpa who sadly passed away two weeks ago. However, we are looking forward to seeing everyone and remembering a very funny and special man - we'll definitely have a wee whisky in his honour. In the meantime it's time to pack and organise. I have four days of flying to get through first. Here are some photos of my recent trips to Maui over in Hawaii. Bye for [View Full Entry]

I travel to Hawaii a lot with work. As it's one of Harmony's main routes I am there pretty much every week. Shame, eh. Most layovers go the same way - arrive, chill, shop, eat, drink, walk about a bit. However, sometimes we get adventurous and do something different. It depends who you are working with and what the weather is doing. It's winter in Hawaii and there has been a lot of rain and showers and also some pretty big wind storms. Last week, we flew into Honolulu on Wednesday and it was cloudy and damp. So we thought that [View Full Entry]

Minutes, seconds, hours, days, weeks, months - time never stands still. It constantly flows, bringing both highs and lows. Every life is different but in some way connected. There is good and bad, take from it what you can. There is much too learn but try to give back. We ended our world journey at the end of last November and this year has been so quick yet eternally long. So different from the last. 2005 was filled with discovery, new faces, places, sights, sounds and a pace of life that has ever changed us. It left a mark on how [View Full Entry]

Wow, it's nearly Christmas again, not quite sure where this year has gone - too fast, that's for sure. It's definitely winter in Vancouver. We've been suffering from different storms over the past few weeks. Power losses, rain, high winds and snow. Not sure if we'll have a white Christmas next weekend but we'll certainly be enjoying the festivities that Christmas brings. So have a very, very Merry Christmas and we wish you all a wonderful New Year. Happy Hogmany, Love Mike and Charlotte xxx [View Full Entry]
