G'day mate! oh wait, that's Australia....uh....bonjour? where the f am I?? oh yeah, dublin! I rolled out of bed this morning at 6am, put on my shoes, grabbed my backpack, and walked to the bus station. I'm sure i looked stunning. I took a bus to the small airport in Rome to fly to Dublin. I was flying Ryanair and I heard bad things but everthing went fine. The flight was about 2.5 hours. I got off the plane on the tarmac and WOW IT WAS COLD!!!! Well it's my last day in Italy :-( The farmstay was so great, I was sad to leave it. Last night, 6 girls and Antonello, the guy who runs the farm, piled into this little car and went into town for some gelato. Sunday nights are happening in Italy I guess. There were a ton of little kids out at 11pm. The car battery died when we tried to go home so the girls got out and had to give it a push-start. so funny. Yesterday, a few of us went to see a shepard make pecorino (italian for little sheep) and ricotta cheese. It was a 5 minute walk from the farm. We walked to this little shack where the shepard was just bringing in the jug of milk from the sheep. Our guide, Anna, showed us a sheep stomach that they take out of a 40-day old sheep to use to make the cheese. Inside the stomach, there is curdled milk which they take a bit out each day and mix it with water to make a solution. This solution has the enzyme that [View Full Entry]

Another relaxing day at the farm. Well sort of. I've done more hiking in the last 2 days than I have in my entire life. Our dinners have been great, simple but good. The annoying kids are leaving tomorrow thank god. Zion, the older boy asks me about 10 questions per hour. "are you reading your book again? what chapter are you on? Are you on the internet?" I made it to the farmstay yesterday. I took a train from Sorrento to Naples and then rode a bus from Naples to Sora. Thankfully, the girl sitting next to me was going to the farm too. Thank god because no one spoke english. We got off in Sora and Giuseppe came and picked us up. How we made it back to the farm alive is a mystery. Tonight's my last night in Sorrento. I haven't done much which is kind of nice. The weather has been crappy the whole time but I did go shopping yesterday around the streets of Sorrento. There are a lot of lemons in this region of Italy so there were so many shops with everything lemon in them. Lemon chocolate, lemon honey, lemon jam, limoncello, lemon candy, you name it. The lemons are HUGE which you can see in my pictures. I walked about 15 minutes to a Mailboxes, etc. place only to find out that today is a bank holiday in Italy [View Full Entry]

I got up EARLY this morning. 6am. It makes me wonder how I ever got to work on time at 7am. Oh that's right, I DIDN'T! oops! Anyway, I caught the train to Rome, then to Naples. I got off (the train) in Naples and had to pee. So I went to the bathroom which from far away I could tell was going to be shady. Yup.
