Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the large gap between this and my last blog entry. I know that I have some loyal followers - two of you have subscribed to my page - so I dedicate this return to you. I’d like to warn you, subscribers and casual readers alike, that this entry has few exciting happenings, save for the three times I nearly died. I’ve added a few grainy photos and some videos to keep those of you with a short attention span interested (Mark, look at the men in pretty clothes dancing!), but mostly my words will have to do the entertaining. To start off, I’d like to tell you about my pre-Christmas exploits; the things that happened after my entry of 24th November. They will not take too long to describe, as ... read more

At the outset of this entry, I’d like to apologise for the small number of pictures, and the limited events I’ll be covering - I haven’t really done many exciting things this week. Most evenings, I’ve been getting in, finding my place freshly cleaned (I don’t know if that’s a good thing, having everything done for me for six months. It might make me a little lazy), sitting down and watching crap Indian TV. I quite enjoy flicking through the 93 ... read more

I started in the office on Monday, and found myself in charge of a friendly, funny, highly skilled but over-stretched team. Within the first hour I realised I was going to enjoy working here - the pace of office life far outstrips anything I've experienced in the UK. It's definitely going to be a challenge, but one that will be very interesting. However, I'm sure you're not too interested in knowing about my work - after all, for those outside of Risk Management, it must be incredibly tedious. So I think I should focus on the things that have occurred around my new role. As the title of this entry should indicate, I have had a rather ... read more

As the heading should intimate, I've suddenly realised I'm not in England anymore. In fact, I'm rather a long way from home, and I can really see the difference. India is both a vibrant and crazy place, and so far I'm a little undecided about how to take the place. It's quite hot, about 30 degrees during the day, and very hazy. The smog levels are currently at dangerous levels, (according to government ratings), and I'm not sure whether to be worried nd stay inside. I think I'll risk it for now, but if it gets up to the next rating, 'Emergency', maybe I'll become a little more concerned. I arrived at Delhi airport at about 2am (Delhi time - 5 1/2 hours ahead) yesterday, to find that the apartment complex had not ordered my taxi ... read more
