Thought we should check in with you all and update you on our travels! After our fun packed time in San Cristobal De Las Casas we headed to the Guatemala border with a great French Canadian couple we met along the way. We were very fortunate that Luis was fluent in Spanish which made it much easier to get around. The border crossing was like something you´ve seen in the movies. We caught a bus to the nearest town and then we had to catch a taxi along all these dirt roads to the border. Surrounding the border crossing were km´s [View Full Entry]

A quiet moment on the bus
An infamous Catholic church

Hola, its us again. Well once again so much has happened over the short time since we last wrote. We learnt so much in our 2 weeks at Genesis and managed to do lots of activities including, bike riding to Cenotes and swimming in them, visiting the infamous Chicha Nitza Ruins and participating in a local Mayan religous ceremony. We met so many people there including a great couple who were initially the chefs there for the first week. They met at a Zen Buddhist retreat where they both were for 2 years. They just got married and had decided they [View Full Entry]

The Tulum Ruins
Cenote Caves

Hi again!! Well after huge celebrations and the craziness of street parades and fireworks for Fidels 80th birthday, we left Cuba and headed back to Mexico laidened with Cigars, Rum, Cuban Art and various other bits and pieces. We had so much fun in Cuba and saw so many sites. The people were so inviting and approachable, we managed to catch the Buena Vista Social Club performing at the famous old Nacional Hotel with a whole group of other travellers that we met along the way. We all then went to a secret locals Salsa club which was incredible. The Salsa [View Full Entry]

Dog Man in Cuba

Hi Everyone!! Here we are in Hawaii. It was sad to leave Australia but I must say much easier to be the one going and looking forward to a big adventure than the one waving off someone. I left Cairns at about 5.30am on Thurs the 16th of Nov and headed on down to Sydney where Will picked me up and we headed on back to his favorite hangout in Sydney, Mechanarkcy. It is this big warehouse space where a whole lot of artists, set designers, carpenters, fashion designers and creative builder types work. It is the old Sydney Peters Ice [View Full Entry]

Arrggghhhh..... Well only 4 1/2 weeks to go and we are really speeding up now. Mel's study is finished (Yeay - Distinctions in all my subjects!) and the renovating of the flat is coming to an end and it is looking completely different. Now we just need to find somewhere to store our stuff, rent out the flat, sell the car and get out of both of our jobs. Noooo worries! Fingers crossed that the Navy lets Will out with ease and with a bit of time for dotting our i's and crossing our t's. We had a very successful "Moving [View Full Entry]
