June 18 - Montréal We got in Montréal around 6h00 PM and went directly to the world famous Schwartz’s restaurant, which they are known for their famous Montreal smoked meat. Nigel was in heaven. It is definitely worth it to stop here, even though there are often line ups to get in. Afterwards, we headed towards Dominic’s place, one of Nigel’s friends. We were a little bit early, so we stopped at a look out point, which had a beautiful seen of whole city. After that, we met up with Dominic and head downtown. We went to a bar that had [View Full Entry]

The drive to Québec was pretty boring. Along the way, we stopped for a poutine soup (tip: don’t ask for extra gravy and cheese in the province of Québec because they will give you lots!) at a restauraut at Trois Pistoles. Afterwards, our GPS took us to Levis, where we took a ferry that took us across the St-Laurence river straight to Québec city. It is funny because, it rained during the whole drive, but as soon as we got on the boat, it stopped raining. We were quite lucky for that part! The boat ride was really nice because we [View Full Entry]

As hard as it was to leave the beautiful Forillon National Park, we packed our things and left for Gaspésie National Park. We drove along the coast and mountains of the Gaspé Peninsula. That was an incredible drive. There was alot of super high hlls, clffs with water falls coming out of them and the gorgeous St-Laurence beside us all the time. Once we got into the park, we tried to find the place where we were suppose to pay for the camping and the entrance fee, but there was no one there. We had to take a 7 km dirt [View Full Entry]

So after a few hours of driving, we finally arrived at Forillon National Park around 7 PM. Our AWESOME travel book (Lonely Planet Canada) recommended us to camp at Cap-Bon-ami. We headed through all sorts of winding steep hills to arrive at our camp site. Once we got there, we were suprised how the camp site was layed out (think open concept camping), but after seing the scenery of this place, we were very blown away! It is SUCH A PRETTY PLACE. We could see the cliffs (limestones) from our camp site, which was pretty awesome. After setting up our tent, [View Full Entry]

Our first stop on the trip was the spectacular and HUGE Percé Rock. Too bad for us that the tide was in and we couldn't walk out to really appreciate the grandure of it. We parked at a cheap motel and walked along the beach, where we made sure to touch the Atlantic Ocean (or the closest thing to the Atlantic ocean)! The pictures really don't do it justice, it is quite massive and very cool looking. There used to be a second hole, but it collapsed. That must have been quite the scene! After taking our pictures with the rock, [View Full Entry]

It was a bittersweet departure from Richibucto, Mélanie had to say "see you later" to Mame pis Pape. Even if it was hard, we knew we had the trip of a lifetime right ahead of us! We had a pretty darn full car and plugged in our first stop - le Rocher Percé - on our handy GPS. Not even an hour into the trip we already saw our first critter, a nice big bull moose! Nigel is always looking for them and finally got to see another one . Pretty soon after we saw a beautiful Doe drinking. At this [View Full Entry]
