Life in Fiji runs on Fiji time Things happen when they happen no rush no worriesOur flight from Los Angeles to Nadi Fiji took around 10 hours and due to the international time zones we lost a day flying. We left Los Angeles on Thursday 10 September and arrived in Fiji on Satu http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Fiji/blog-449117.html Route 1 Pacific Coast Highway Climbing aboard the Greyhound bus in San Diego we settled into our seat pleased in the knowledge that this would be our last Greyhound bus journey and happy that the ride from San Diego to Los Angeles would only take 3 hours. We had spent many hours on the Greyhound buses traveling from place to place and we have to say that all in all the experience was not at all as bad as we had been led to be http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/blog-435348.html San Diego We left San Francisco on Saturday 15 August and travelled to San Diego via the Greyhound bus. The journey took 11 hours in total and it was an overnight ride so we slept for most of it and arrived in San Diego at 10.00am the following day. We had booked into a hostel called Lucky D's Hostel which was only a short walk from the Greyhound station and we chose it as it was cheaper than USA Hostels http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/San-Diego/blog-433928.html San Francisco Part 2 Whilst in San Francisco we knew we had to go over the Golden Gate bridge so we figured the best way to do this would be to hire bikes for the day. We hired bicycles from 'Blazing Saddles' and we now know why they are called that After a day of riding you will have a 'blazing saddle......We got up nice and early and headed down to Fisherman's Wharf where the bike hire company is located. Las Vegas was fun but after just over 3 weeks it was certainly time to move on from there If we had stayed there much longer http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/San-Francisco/blog-424205.html Las Vegas From Los Angeles we booked tickets via the internet for the Greyhound bus and headed to Las Vegas on 20 June. We also prebooked a couple of nights in a Travelodge in Las Vegas which if you can believe it worked out cheaper than a hostel. The bus ride was 6 hours with a 30 minute stopover in Barstow. We arrived in Las Vegas around 4pm and were met with a wall of heatWe grabbed our backpac http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Nevada/Las-Vegas/blog-418049.html Los Angeles Well after an emotional farewell we found ourselves on the plane headed for Los Angeles on Monday 15 June 2009.We were met with amazing surprises at the airport not only Dianna's nephew George dressed as Batman and her Brother in Law dressed as Superman but also Matt's best friend Dean had managed to get an upgrade for us through his Dad. We flew 'World Traveller' which was brilliant Big se http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Los-Angeles/Hollywood/blog-418038.html Quick update Morning AfternoonEvening allThis is just a quick blog to let all know that we are both well and still going strong after one whole week At the moment the laptop is in the repair shop hence the lack of blogs thus far but as soon as its back i will update with what we have doneseen so farQuick summary we got to LA last week 15th June and stayed there for 5 days and we have since move http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Nevada/Las-Vegas/blog-411637.html Surprise leaving party Well this is the first entry from our round the world tour and this one comes from sunny England Harefield Unbeknown to Dianna and I a surprise party had VERY sneakily been arranged for the Saturday night 6 June by Dianna's sister Claire and others and everyone involved did a spot on job of keeping it quiet as we did not have a clue about it until we got there. There was SO many times that peo http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Hertfordshire/Rickmansworth/blog-407164.html
