We left the Motel at 0730. Had great weather, this cockpit is a bit different. We have been looking for the radar, to check traffic, but didn't find it. Do we need one in the landboat? We decided we would speak to some other RV'ers first chance we get. What upgrades do we need? We spoke of different things we would like to do, now that we are part dirt lovers. We did buy a Garmin Nuvi 255 while in Fort Lauderdale, replacing the Lowrance we left on the boat when we sold it. The Garmin talks to you, it is [View Full Entry]

I am trying to catch up on our travel blog. It has been over a month since writing. We have been so busy. Day 1 Left home (only 9 days there) headed for North Florida. Old Town, where Ed and Gladys live. We will spend a couple of nights here, while we catch up on our adventures. And play some Mexican Dominoes. To our surprise, Ed had cooked dinner. Found out Gladys working at a super market as a cashier. Iris, their tea cup poodle is as friendly as always. We are driving our new pick up truck. Actually new to [View Full Entry]

We left Lauderdale this morning. Stopped for lunch in Fort Myers with Moon Shadow, Tom and Carol. Then unto Sarasota for the night. We wanted to tell Martin and Katheryn that we have sold Paper Moon in person. We find that email is so impersonal. Martin really appreciated this, and let us know. We have the original US flag that paper Moon was commissioned with. We will be giving this to him. We intend to introduce him to New owner, Juan. And to visit him whenever possible. Pete's sister asked us to bring Jonner and AJ this day to take them to Jungle Island. It is on the causeway going into Miami Beach, right across from the cruise ships. The boys had day off from school, so off we went..We picked up Tia Lu, went to lunch at Mc Donalds, where we made sure Tia was in between the boys, you know no fighting. Then off we went to the park. It is kind of a small zoo. Hope you enjoy the pictures and 2 videos. [View Full Entry]

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale just fine. Drained and very emotional. It was very hard saying goodbye to all the new friends in PR and saying goodbye to our boat Paper Moon. But we will be back! Halloween found us at our daughter Debbie's house, with a surprise visit of our son John and his family. Tears were shed by all and then we enjoyed ourselves very much. There was son in law Brian's band, hay rides, plenty of food and drink. And here are some pictures from that night. [View Full Entry]

We spent 2 nights in San Juan. The Tres Palmas is a dump. $97 per night. Awful! The 26 we left Guayanilla in the am, saying very tearful goodbyes to Hector and Rosita. Then we went to the Club of Pescadores, to say our final goodbyes, this was bad. Very emotional. Latin people are so emotional. Then we were off to Caguas, to Silvia and Emilio, for lunch and goodbyes. Actaully we never say goodbye, just Hasta Luego! From there to San Juan to the motel. We had dinner at Chez by ourselves. Repacked duffle bags, 3 of them, plus 2 [View Full Entry]

San Juan (IPA: ) (from the Spanish San Juan Bautista, "Saint John the Baptist") is the capital and largest municipality in Puerto Rico. As of the 2000 census, it has a population of 433,733, making it the 42nd-largest city under the jurisdiction of the United States. San Juan was founded by Spanish colonists in 1521, who called it Ciudad de Puerto Rico ("Puerto Rico City"). Condado district

During the Spanish colonial times most of the urban population resided in what is now known as Old San Juan. This sector is located on the western half of a small island called the Isleta de San Juan, which is connected to the mainland by two bridges and a causeway. The small island, which comprises an area of 47 mi² (122 km²), also hosts the working class neighborhood of Puerta de Tierra and most of Puerto Rico's central government buildings, including the Commonwealth's Capitol. The main central part of the city is characterized by narrow cobblestone streets and picturesque colonial building [View Full Entry]

East of Old San Juan lies the upscale tourist oriented neighborhood of Condado, which occupies land that used to be owned by entrepreneur Pablo Ubarri Capetillo, a Spanish railroad developer and Count of San José de Santurce under the Spanish colonial period. Beaches such as nearby Ocean Park, popular with swimmers, surfers and kitesurfers, are found all along the district's Atlantic coastline which is also where we are staying for a couple of nights, Tres Palmas. Near Condado are two separate business districts, Santurce and Miramar. Miramar is mainly a residential area rising south of the C [View Full Entry]
