unspoiled beauty
Peter, I never would have thought to go to Panama on my own...I had a friend move there and that was that...had to visit. I was suprised by its unspoiled beauty and charm. No one really drives there....it is just simple living at its best. you dont need to own much to be comfortable....t-shirt, shorts, flip flops and a smile. It does help to know a bit of spanish but you can get by on english if you must. I have decided to go back again...this time I will stop in Costa rica for a bit too and then maybe Belize....

Sounds like Paradise
Central America isn't somewhere I would really have thought of going or been enticed to travel to before Margot but you definately make it (Bocas) sound wonderful and it looks fabulous in the pictures also. What would you say are its best features ? Exactly why is it Paradise for you ? What other destinations hold a powerful draw for you? Peter

Caribbean Appeal
Margot it definately does sound wonderful when you put it that way. Sounds like you have been to quite a few Caribbean destinations also ? I've always wanted to go there but not gotten around to it yet (long way from Ireland !). Speaking of my interest in movie tourism I've just seen Casino Royale and that definately would entice me to visit the Bahamas. Closest I have been is Florida on a past trip. Have you ever been to Ireland ? or indeed Europe ?
