Rehearsal Week #2 Europe » Italy » Liguria » Sanremo
As happy as we all were to be back together, the week has been a rough one. Jack’s foot which we were until Monday morning we thought was sprained was in fact broken and he returned to us with a HUGE plaster cast. Several company members took turns with a vicious stomach bug. With all the drama we still had to crunch to work out the last couple shows and get them on tape for archives. It was a long week and Team Awesome found out that due to the school strikes in Italy, bookings were WAY down and we would [View Full Entry]

Halloween Tour Week Europe » Italy
Rehearsals were rushed and before we knew it Group A/3 (Team Awesome) and Group B/4 (Team Brilliant) set off for our brief Halloween tour week. Team awesome: Me, Jack, and Laura, the group of three, set off for to Castalanza. We spent the afternoon in our very pink and flowery hotel room and then we walked around this little town of no great importance for a while. Talked to strangers in the park and then found a pizzeria, not far from our guest house to eat. The resteraunt was owned by a man and his wife, who happened to be English, [View Full Entry]

Things are moving fast, after a little scare about being able to get into Italy with an eight month round trip ticket, bought long ago, in the dreamy days of work VISA’s and…….well quite a lot of things actually. But needless to say I made it from Chicago to Frankfurt and then Frankfurt to Milano with out a hitch. The German customs/security even let me through the airport with my zippo that I had packed in a bag which I threw into my purse last minuet to reduce the weight of my backpack. I got to keep it because it didn’t [View Full Entry]

Had a nice month or so in DeKalb just chilling out and relaxing after/before all the traveling. Stayed at the farm most of the time. Went to Milwaukee and Williams Bay to see family a few times. Helped with some dialect work for the stage coach production of ‘Christmas Carol’ that mom is doing costumes for. I also spent a good deal of time at Bill Choes Taekwondo studio. Got my yellow belt and met some really lovely people. It was a very loving and family oriented environment. It was good to get moving again and so much more rewarding [View Full Entry]

DC Flew out of Houston despite the potential threats of hurricane Goustof. Flew into Dullas and was picked up by Dad. Spent the evening and much of the next day at his and Jennifers house. Indulged the MI-5 addiction that Eli and I started the last night in Houston. Got a chance to visit with a bunch of friends from high school: Iz, Jon, Mary, Samantha, Clair, Jordy, and Will. Saw Annie and Jessie my godmother and her youngest son, who were also sweet enough to lend me their extra car so I had a way of getting around while I [View Full Entry]

I was horrified to realize with Eli as he drove me from George Bush International airport that it had been over A YEAR since I had seen him and Elana. Had a really nice time in TX with them. Drank a lot of Dr. Pepper. Went to some of E and E’s favorite restaurants. Heard all about the joys of applying for lawschool from Elana, as well as the joy of working for FedEx from Eli. Got a tour of the Alley Theatre and Eli’s super ‘re’organized music collection for his online radio station. And ofcourse me the new ‘kids’. Toby, [View Full Entry]

I shared a ride to Hamburg with a man named Sven and a nineteen year old guy who was serving his civil service time in the army. His station was in Bulgaria. I was dropped off at my hostel around 11pm/23:00 and I decided after taking a little walk around to find a cash machine that I would get a proper night sleep, as I had grown accustom to only having about four every night. I checked into Instant Sleep hostel, which is probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The people and atmosphere are amazing and the location [View Full Entry]

Shared a ride to Bonn and spent a lovely few days with Judith. We stayed in her beautiful little village just outside of Bonn with her Mom, a teacher, and two brothers, who are sixteen and twelve. Her father lives just up the road. I descended upon them just as school was starting but all of them were so gracious and warm. Spent one evening in watching movies and with Judith and two friends of hers who are a couple. Judith is 19 and about to go off to university to study photography and advertizing. We met last winter in London [View Full Entry]

So its been just over a week since I have been alone traveling in Germany. The rest of the day of the 6th was an easy day. Pepe (from Spain/Cataluna, Barcilona) from the work camp came back to Dresden for the evening and stayed at Stephans. We hung out in the park and had a beer before we ran into Stephan on the walk home. He gave us a lift the rest of the way and the rest of the evening we spent hanging out at the flat, talking with his house mates. Pepe had to get up at 05:30 to [View Full Entry]

Im Coming Home! Europe » Germany » Saxony » Dresden
I just booked my return flight and will be flying back to the states on August 21st. I will arrive in Chicago in the late afternoon. I will probably be in the states for the month of September and then I am almost certainly going to return to Italy for an 8month acting job. The same company I worked for this summer offered me an acting job. I will be performing in English childrens shows that will tour around Italy to schools and theatres. No, its not Shakespear or probably even that artistically rewarding but its a chance to live in [View Full Entry]
