March 15- March 20 ~ Group B with Vic, Sophie, and Eoghan *Thanks Eoghan for letting me steal your pictures....yet agian. After a Skype conversation with my father on Sunday I have decided to stick to the day by day paragraph format, as he is one of the two people I know subscribe to this blog. So I know I’m pleasing at least 50% satisfied reader rate  Sunday, March 15th: Had a quiet morning. Arrived home a 4am/04:00. Spent Saturday night out with friends in Milano. Went to a Couch Surfing gathering/birthday party first and then met up with people at “the columbs”. After puddering around for about an hour went for a jog. Got back home, showered, got dressed. A little after noon I drove around with Zander trying to find a supermarket that ... read more

Week 8 March 9-March 15 ~ Group B with Vic, Sophie, and Eoghan On Sunday I got an e-mail from my father loving poking fun at my lack of formatting in these entries. I believe he put it as “working my way though possibly the worlds longest paragraph”. So I will do my best this week to break up my thoughts for your reading comfort. Monday: everyone slept well and we enjoyed having a self catering flat where we could cook a warm breakfast. Yes I also eat breakfast now, changes changes. Made myself a lovely egg white omelet, and a cup of tea. Slightly nicer then my usual: yogart, cerial bar, and piece of fruit. Had a nice, though slightly disorganized day at a school in Vechenza. The hallways were full of crafts, newspaper articles, ... read more

Week 7 March 1-Mrach 7 ~ Group B with Vic, Sophie, and Eoghan Spent Sunday evening driving to Torino. Stayed in a cozy, odiously not designed for four people, room. The shows on Monday were difficult as we two shows for 100 plus students each. The teachers were very disorganized and the workshops were just two groups. The school itself was beautiful, looked kind of like Hogwarts inside with big coulombs and stone stair cases. The theatre space was massive, everything was just too big. It was a long day but I enjoyed working in this group. After I drove the three hours (including inner city traffic) to Genova. Genova is maybe now one of my favorite Italian cities. When we finally found our hotel, moms valentines day package had been forwarded by the office and ... read more

Week 5 Feb 16 - Feb 23 ~Group A with Sophie and Xander We stayed in a adorable flat Sunday night. It was an adorable apartment attached to Mr. Luigig’s house. He was a lovely and though he didn’t speak very much English he made us all feel very welcome and at home, just show’s you how much a persons feelings and personality can transcends language barriers. After our lovely breakfast we went to do our shows and left Monselice by lunch time. In about two hours we had arrived in Cesena. The hotel was very nice. The women at the front desk spoke beautiful English and was always very pleasant and helpful, we had a decent spread for breakfast every morning in their basement breakfast room, everything was great except the wireless was being repaired, ... read more

I’ve felt badly that I haven’t been writing. I don’t only keep this blog for myself but also for those of my friends and family who would like a way of keeping up with my life. Several things have been motivating me not to write: my camera breaking and wanting to get other peoples photo’s of the past weeks to accompany this entry, the growing amount of writing I have to catch up on, the cold I am battling and the general winter hibernation, resting instinct, and just a general lack of mood to write. I find that when any kind of journaling begins to feel like a chore, is a marker of a time when I am feeling settled. I don’t often have the erg to write and record the day to day events of ... read more

Watched Prince Caspian Sunday night with Vic and woke up at 10am to say goodbye to Vic, Xander, Katie, and Laura. They will be in Rome for TWO WEEKS! Lucky lucky team awesome. Katie went down with them for the first week only. From what I have head everyone is having a lovely time down there. We left for Milan, Helen, Sophie, Eughen and I around 11:30. Though I was scheduled to spend the week teaching in Torrino, I thought it would be better to leave from Milano rather than San Remo. I was able to get my laundry done, move my stuff back into the flat and settle . It was nice to have Monday just for moving and settling in. Sophie made everyone jacket potatoes for dinner and between bites of tuna and salad ... read more

So the first two weeks back at work have passed. It has a much calmer rehearsal period then last years. We have three new actors: Sophie, Xander and Eughen. The first week Xander was still on tour doing a panto, so Team Brilliant (now Me, Helen, Sophie, and Eughen) rehearsed most of our shows. Xander arrived on the first Sunday back and the next week was mostly spent rehearsing the new team awesome (Xander, Vic, and Laura) and letting team Brilliant rehearse the shows for the first week out as three’s because all my escaping long workshops finally caught up with me. The first week back on tour, I will not be with Team Brilliant but in Villarbasse teaching two classes of 13 and 14 year olds. It’s not too bad, I start on Wednesday but ... read more

So the last five days have been very relaxing. Felt a little slothful but knowing that I’m going back to work on the 7th I don’t feel too bad. On the first I slept in again, okay so pretty much every day this week I haven’t gotten out of bed for before 10am/10:00. Lin Wae and I went for café in the afternoon, and showed one another pictures of our homes. Lin Wae as well as being an excellent Italian and science student, use to be a design major and volunteered to help me make a wedding present for my friend Elisa and her soon to be hubby Reuben, who are getting married on the 5th….today! So CONGRATULATIONS! By the way congratulations to all the engagements, weddings and babies in the near future: Kevin, Elisa (again), ... read more

December 31st 2008

On December 27th Tanya and I got on the 10am train. To my very pleasant surprise the tickets to Naples were only 19 euro, instead of the 40 euro as listed on the TrenItalia website. The train ended up taking about an hour longer but I think 21 euro are is certainly worth an hour of my time. It breaks down to only slightly less then what I get paid per show (without bonuses) anyway. We caught the train in Foligno and said an slightly anxious good bye to Jerry and Phil, I don’t think Lin Wea was too worried. However, Tanya has never traveled without her folks or a responsible party before, never stayed at a hostel either, and as new things are always a little scary, though exciting, this trip was a little more ... read more

Arrived safe and sound in Foligno at 10am. Foligno, and Spello where I will be staying are in the Umbria province of Italy, in the middle, about midcalf of the boot. A little achy from the train, the six hour train from Genova to Rome I had to spend sitting on the floor of the narrow hallway. Second class was the six seater style compartments and I had not been assigned a seat. The train was packed so I shared a pull out seat in the corridor with some Albanian guy. He sat on the seat, sitting/sleeping, in a forward “The Thinker” pose while I sat on the floor resting my head against the seat. Got picked up at the station by Jerry, Tanya’s mom, who went to Lab School with my Mom - how small ... read more
