I remember the trains being right on time in Germany so bad luck that they were different for you. We took the same trail (fairy tale road) and your pics brought back memories. We loved Berlin too. Keep on enjoying. Judy and Rags |
| 22nd September 2009 Mandys | Thank you - From: Ukraine and Budapest Thanks to all the emails - it makes me feel great to have you looking over my shoulder. Please accept my apologies if I don't answer each email individually, but I'm sure that you understand that even though I do all the typing on the computer separately, the uploads are the killers because they always take time - more than you think they will. |

| 21st September 2009 Krys | Poor Ukraina!!! - From: Ukraine and Budapest Hi Lucy & Roman. Your train accommodation looked OK until you mentioned the loos. The toilets on your train may have stunk to high heaven, my trip from Kiev to Crimea, you could also see the rail tracks through the huge holes in the floor. Enjoying following your trip. |

| 15th September 2009 Weggs | Hi - From: Russia and Ukraine Don't you hate those overnight train rides! Chernobyl Museum would have been depressing. It's still raining in Perth but we did have a couple of sunny periods the other day - I haven't had a chance to show off my tan. BTW anonymous was me, I obviously wasn't logged in. cheers Judy |
| 14th September 2009 carol callaghan | Russian photos - From: Russia Continued Great photos Lucy - I can almost imagine being there myself. Moscow must be a curious blend of old and new, the Kremlin wall look most imposing. You are certainly making the most of your time there. The spa and sauna sounded a little confronting but good for you that you are so relaxed about appearing "au naturel". Warm regards Carol |
| 13th September 2009 Alex | Happy birthday Roman - From: Russia Continued Hi Roman and Lucy Your trip notes are very interesting. We all hope you had a terrific birthday. Love - Alex and Stephanie |

| 12th September 2009 anonymous | Sounds great - From: Russia Continued Think we'll have to start saving for a trip to Russia it all sounds so interesting. Funny how things like Red Square are often aren't as impressive once you get there but then others are even more impressive than imagined. Continue having a great time! (and writing about it of course!) |
| 12th September 2009 Fran | Week 2 - From: Russia Continued Good to hear from you again. Love the photos and the description of your doings. Not much new here. The weather continues to be cold, windy and showery. The Probus Rendezvous begins on Monday. A pity that the weather is so lousy. Meg hasn't come over as she has pneumonia and can't travel. Am quite disappointed but only three weeks until I go over anyway. Cathie and Paul are here now to take more of their stuff. Have delayed the garage sale until Nov 1 - can't rely on the weather to be ok next Sat. Am looking forward to your next update. Stay safe and well Fran |
| 12th September 2009 Weggs | Food and drink - From: Finland Part 2 Hi Lucy, we are home now so I can finally look at your pics. With our wireless card on the road the money runs out too fast downloading pics so we have the browser set not to, so it's the first time I saw our blog with pics too. Food and drink sounds good. Think we'd be drinking vodka and beer! Did you like the taste of the rapu? Did they taste like our marron? Off to read the next one now. PS I know what you mean about writing the blogs one time and posting sometime later - sometimes things in mine don't make much sense later and I have to add bits in. Rags used to proof them for me and add bits but he never seemed to want to be bothered this trip. cya Judy |
| 11th September 2009 Mandys | Having Fun - From: Finland Here we come! Well we are having fun in Russia, and we aren't on a tight schedule, so we can chill out as we want. Tonight we went to a barbecue restaurant on our own and we even got a couple playing guitar and singing russian songs - great stuff!! Love to all |
| 11th September 2009 Mandys | - From: Finland Part 2 Believe it or not - I forgot - I write these blogs on the computer and then publish another time ----- and....... that's what happens when you travel!! |
| 11th September 2009 Maura | Having fun - From: Finland Here we come! Great to hear about your goings-on. Finland sounds fantastic. Hope Russia is as enjoyable - well maybe interesting is a better description. We're counting down until we leave at the end of this month - which is not too far off now! I have the usual mad scramble at work before then but it's worth it. Looking forward to the next instalment. Love to you both, M |
| 9th September 2009 Roma | The rest? - From: Finland Part 2 What happened after and? |
| 4th September 2009 Weggs | Great to see your blog - From: Finland Here we come! Hi Lucy, I was hoping you were going to keep up the blog so we could follow you. Sounds like you are having a great time but the missing baggage must have been a worry. People always say you should have half of each person's stuff in each bag in case of this sort of thing but we've never managed to do it either. Food sounds delightful. I love berries. make sure you have some for me. Looking forward to your next entry. cheers Judy |
| 3rd September 2009 Bev Powell | Wow! - From: Finland Here we come! Hi Lucy, Wow it sounds so wonderful and the pictures are beautiful, everything looks so neat and clean (is that because I'm so used to Asia now??) . | 3rd September 2009 Fran | Almost i week gone already - From: Finland Here we come! Hi So nice to hear of your week. Apart from the luggage mishap, it seems things are going really well. Nothing new on the home front. Weather here is 16/17, overcast and just plain cold. Went on a Probus trip to Serpentine Dam yesterday. About 25 went. Best part was the Macnuts macadamia factory on the way home. Lots of tasting and a very nice icecream. Had Errol for company. Am looking forward to the next blog. Stay safe and well. Fran |

| 4th June 2008 Weggs | Photos - From: Northern Territory Naturalist Meet I am really wowed by your photos Lucy. Your cane toadie photo puts mine to shame but at least both our toads suffered the same fate afterwards! Thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing you Saturday. Judy |

| 27th January 2008 Weggs | Home - From: My favourite island - Rottnest Makes one feel homesick. We have never been to Rottnest together so may make the effort one of these days. Cheers Judy and Rags |
| 23rd November 2007 Mandys | Heat - From: Touring Gauteng Thanks for the comments, and Yes, the places were highly interesting, but the pictures don't show the heat! OR the dust - we had dusty afternoons when the westerlies blew, and in Namibia, there were many willy-willies blowing through - and always a large willy willy on the horizon. One day when we went out for the arfternoon, and left the tent flaps open, the dust blew in and not only convered everything in dust, but got into everything in the open bags and things.... horrible! |
| 20th November 2007 Weggs | Maps - From: Touring Gauteng I haven't been able to get the maps to work on the blog either. Rags played with it yesterday but still no luck. Don't think I would have liked the 40degrees but the places look phenomenal! |
| 20th November 2007 Mandys | Whatever the weather! - From: Safari in South Africa While we on safari the weather was generally warm in South Africa, while in the rest of the places ( Namibia and Botswana, Zambia and Zim) it was hot as Hades - over 30 and often in the high 30s and early 40s. And yes, it would have been slightly warmer than where you are! Our camera Nikon, did a good job - while my Canon took the photos that Roman didn't get around to taking or the ones that when he had his zoom lens on, he couldn't take. |
| 19th November 2007 Weggs | Animals - From: Safari in South Africa Hi Lucy, Looks like you got awfully close to some of the animals or did the zoom lens come in very handy? The hippos photo is my favourite. Bet the weather was warmer than it is here in England! |
| 7th November 2007 Weggs | Photos - From: End of the Camping Safari Still looking forward to seeing your photos, Lucy. Where are you now? |

| 10th October 2007 Roma | enjoy - From: Cape Town tour This site is a really good idea. It's great to hear about your trip but I could use a few more photos. Enjoy your trip into the outback! Drat that Curse (Pattersons of course.) |

| 8th October 2007 Roma | wow - From: Africa at last! Hello travellers! Thought you must have disappeared into the ether. The photos look fabulous. It sounds like you are enoying yourselves even with all the hard walking. Keep up the good work (the photos)! Lunch at Mums was very nice. Ric et al did not turn up though. Food was yummy, Robert is well and we spent a lovely afternoon outside. The weather has been fantastic though it did start to rain last night and thunder storms are a possibility today. All is well with us and we expect to leave on our sojourn Wednesday. Lots of love and kisses Roma |
