| 28th November 2008 MandsandSteve | - From: Welcome Aboard Carnival Victory There are quite a few kids - although not overrun by them. A lot of areas set aside for them, most of which are out of the way - parents definitely seem to be taking advantage of that. That is a big screen TV - shows everything from live sport and other TV (via satelitte) to movies to general cruise info etc. We haven't taken advantage yet - either on land touring or the weather has been poor at night when we're onboard. |
| 26th November 2008 Chris | Caibbean - From: Dominica Looks beautiful some very arty photos. I await comments about the tree. Chris |
| 26th November 2008 Ian | Arty - From: St Thomas, US Virgin Islands So who is getting arty with the camera. Nice butterfly and flowers. Lens is cool to as you can even see the web in there.... Keep shooting Dad |
| 26th November 2008 Ian | Its big! - From: Welcome Aboard Carnival Victory Huge ship. Plenty of facilities. A couple of questions .... That slide and pool - lots of kids? Also, is that a big screen TV? What do they show on there? As regards the query from the yanks, If its west of the Pacific Coast and they know ANYTHING about it, these are the better informed. They actually realise that the earth doesnt end at the shore line. Continue to enjoy, cos wednesday looms on the horizon ....... |
| 23rd November 2008 Smees | Extrememly Jealous Relllies - From: Puerto Rico - start of cruise 2 Hi Guys We have been following your trip with great interest....and not a little envy. You seemed to love New York - now I'm keener than ever to get there. Can't wait to hear about the lovely Carribbean. Glad to hear all is well. Love from the Smees |
| 21st November 2008 MandsandSteve | Katz Deli - From: New York - Day 2 Hi Lesley / Robert - was it your suggestion to go to the Deli? I kid you not, we walked from Battery Park (as low as you can Downtown) to the Lower East side to get there - and yes it was 1 HR to get there. When we got there, the only two things I could eat on the menu was Chicken Noodle Soup and the Steak Burger (coz it was cooked!!!) I chose the latter but didnt eat a lot coz it wasnt very nice. Steves sandwich (whilst looked nice if you like Pastrami) coz $23 AUD. It certainly made my choice of dinner easier... |
| 21st November 2008 MandsandSteve | New Shoes - From: New York - Day 2 Hi Mum, I purchased new thongs - coz the ones I bought prior to the trip were leather and caused blisters all over my feet. I found these Quiksilver platform thongs (not to high) made of material. Soooo comfortable. I was able to purchase them as a tit-for-tat thing. Steve had to buy gloves (coz he had hyperthermia in his hands) so it was accepted.... BTW, thx for looking at the house... |
| 21st November 2008 MandsandSteve | Emit - From: Start spreading the news ... (Part 1) hehe Simon, when I was typing the blog, the computer started writing backwards. Dont ask me why. It was going to say Time Square... BTW, heard about the new house (and saw the layout of the house) - LOOKS fantastic... Congratulations!! When do you start building? |
| 21st November 2008 Lesley | - From: New York - Day 2 New York sounds great. No ice skating at Rockefeller Square? Mission accomplished - Mmmmm delicious deli delights. |

| 20th November 2008 IanMcL | Spreading the REAL word - From: Start spreading the news ... (Part 1) Nice to see the Hawthorn Paraphernalia getting another workout. Thats covered both the North America and South America continents in the past 30 days! Now for Europe ..... Looks seriously good (and cold), but it sounds as though it is everything you had hoped. Keep the pics coming. Love, Dad |
| 20th November 2008 MandsandSteve | Kendra - From: Viva Las Vegas! Sorry, standards slipping. She had her entourage of blonde bimbos around her. Even i managed to be put off guard by all of their big busts!!!! |

| 18th November 2008 MandsandSteve | - From: Cabo San Lucas Definitely only one author per entry - but we'll keep everyone guessing so no by-lines. It was a Daley who conversed with the street vendors - but may go by another name on their birth certificate ... |
| 17th November 2008 IanMcL | Wasted training? - From: Cabo San Lucas Nice Pics. I know, its getting late here, but i would swear that the author changed from the start to the end of the report. We need By-lines folks so that we can pidgeon hole the stories (or parts of the stories). Looks a good time to me - but Im not sure who parasailed. I trust that there can only be one answer ....... As for the response for the trinket vendors, that has to be Steve. Mandy I am sure would by now be well trained in the standard two word McLennan response. Its universally understood! Until later Ian |

| 10th November 2008 IanMcL | Comfortable enough - From: Cruising off Mexico Cabin looks good. Have you been confused as yet with the entree vs main jargon in the restaurant. Also shrimp vs prawn. Sometimes you would swear that we dont speak the same language. Ship looks really ready to enjoy though. Remember calories ......... dad |
| 9th November 2008 Tarsh | - From: Long Beach CA I can't believe you are going to the gym on a holiday!! When we were over there earlier this year, we also couldn't believe the size of food/drinks they serve...so totally understand why they have an obesity problem! Looking forward to more photo's & your blogs! xx Tarsh |
| 9th November 2008 MandsandSteve | My ice cream was bad, but steves .. well - From: Long Beach CA I concede that it was that workout routine X2. Should prob throw in a bit of lactic acid training as well. that being said, steves was 100% worse. The place was like cold rock ice creamery (ur fave place you havent had yet!). He had vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce, choc sauce, choc chip fudge cookie, and choc chips all mashed up... Needless to say, we both went to the gym when we returned back to hotel. Speaking of which, the treadmills are unbelievable... The screens are touch screens and there is a personal TV attached to each. WOW! I have to get one :) |
| 9th November 2008 MandsandSteve | Ice Cream - From: Long Beach CA I didnt eat much at all!!!! Steve didnt want me to throw it out as he thought i had only three spoonfuls and a bit of the cone! |
| 9th November 2008 Ian | Loooong Beach - From: Long Beach CA Nice pics. Glad to see u r taking over from me! Ice cream looks quite nice BTW, but i would be curious to know how much u threw away (not much I bet!) |
| 9th November 2008 Michelle | Icecream pay back - From: Long Beach CA Mands, I think the icecream would equate to approximately 2 jabs, 2 crosses, 2 uppers, 2 knees, 2 kicks up to 10 on left and back down on right, running inbetween up a large hill (or possibly along that beautiful beach!) and perhaps an equal number of dips or push ups at either end, he he! (or you could add in Franky's new favourite the hook and the straight, I wanted to hook into his head today but I restrained myself, ha ha!) Hope you're both having fun! Can't wait for you to rub it in a little more! luv Shell and family xoxox |
