The main purpose of this webpage, is keeping "the bereaved" ;-) up to date about my South-America-trip.

Unglaublich, aber wahr - schon ist ein Jahr vergangen, seid ich zu meiner Reise aufgebrochen bin ... daran wollte ich am Anfang gar nicht denken - so lange Zeit und doch so kurz ... Chile 3 - Chiloé & More South America

With only 3 hours of sleep, I still managed (on the 15th of March) to get on time to the bus-terminal ;-) But my stomach wasn’t feeling that good and it needed about 2 hours to decide, if it would not eventually "come to visit me" ;-) So therefore the bus-ride was a little bit "difficult". The journey via the Andes from Argentina to Chile was without any problems and there have been quite some nice views. "La Trochita" - it is comming :-)
Well, after I had changed to the correct bus, we continued to the Argentinian border-control. There we than waited for the bus from Esquel, that will bring us to there. I got off the bus near the tourist-info - they have been really helpful, with lot´s of info and even prices for the accommodations. I choose one next to the bus-terminal. The La Trochita, an old steam-engine-train only operates on Tuesday and Friday - today (06.03.09) is Friday, but it´s already too late. So I waited for it´s return and took some photos there. At the end of February (28.02.09) I was "stranded" in Chile Chico - and this is really "chico" (small). :-) The border crossing was slow, but it´s always interesting to see, how an passport from Europe starts to make them friendly and they don´t really check your luggage. This time they just asked me, what is in my bag and immediately said "that's okay" and I could leave, whilst the Israelis who where traveling with me, had to open all there bags and they controlled all the stuff ... Glaciers, Hiking and A Little Bit Of Nothing ... South America » Argentina » Santa Cruz

Way to Glaciar Perito Moreno 1
On the 18th of February I went from Puerto Natales (Chile) to El Calafate (Argentina) with an organized tour and continued to the nearby National Park "Los Glaciares", with the famous glacier "Perito Moreno". I have to say, it is really very impressive! Imagine a glacier, with a front of almost 2,5 km and you can access it by car almost directly to the front of it! And there are some balconies, so you are really close to it and if you stay at least one hour you can see it calve (and of course hear it all the time "work"). [View Full Entry]

Ferry to Chile 1
I had to get up at 5:45, to catch my bus in Ushuaia to Punta Arenas (Chile) ... this was really tough! :-) The bus-ride was kind of funny, because there was another passenger, an older man with really thick glasses and an antique camera ... he forced the bus to stop on the way to take a picture and the drivers needed almost 10 minutes to bring him back to the bus, whilst we all where waiting ... :-) The boat-cruse with the ferry was nice, just the return to the bus was difficult, because there has been a big [View Full Entry]

So I finally continued to see the east-coast. Luckily I was able to go by car with Fernando from Villa Ventana to Bahia Blanca. There I could stay one night at his parent´s home. Newsflash: Time to say goodbye ... Europe » Austria » Upper Austria » Steyr

Well, finally I did it ... I´ve done the next step on my path, away from my "old life" and terminated the lease-contract for my flat in Steyr and sold all my furniture and technical devices, to the next tenant!
