Bon Rouge French Bistro is a magnificent restaurant within in the heart of Victoria, B.C., Canada. It is located on 611 Courtney Street, within walking distance of the Fairmont Empress Hotel, the Parliament building, and Chinatown. As a small group of friends we made a visit to Bon Rouge on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. As a local restaurant incorporating as many local ingredients as possible a number of their local wines came from Sand Hill, Grey Monk, Summer Hill, Mission Hill and Kettle Valley Wineries. Their chicken is free-ranged and local as is their lamb with their pork sourced from Nanaimo. In addition, their oysters are from Whaletown Bay, Cortes Island, B.C. and their mussels and albacore tuna are both from Cortes.
