Hey eighth grade parents and families, Yesterday, after a 6:30 wake up, we headed on our bus, driven by Wattid, to the city of Jaffa. Although there was much too much fog to see the city of Tel Aviv from the Jaffa Hill, we still were able to admire the view. After that we took a class picture in front of the old city walls of Jaffa. We then headed to the suburb of Jaffa named Neve Tzedek, where we ate some of the best ice creams of our lives. Right after eating ridiculously great ice cream, we headed to Independence [View Full Entry]

We started the day by waking up to our eccentric, curly-haired madricha, Ayelet. With sleepy eyes, we boarded the bus and traveled to Mitzpeh Gadot. We sat under eucalyptus trees and learned about Eli Cohen, an incredibly courageous spy who died fighting in order to divert Syrian attacks. Then, we went to Har Bental, a bunker which overlooks Syria. Despite the long line, lunch in Katzrin was very tasty. But the most exciting part of the day was the beautiful Jilaboon hike in the Golan. Although some took a longer hike, both paths were breathtaking. Everyone met up at the bottom [View Full Entry]

Hello parents and friends of 8th graders, Today we woke up at approximately 6:45 a.m. to a wonderful breakfast at our kibbutz. We departed at 8:00 a.m. to arrive at the Jordon River for our kayaking/rafting experience. We rafted for about two hours while encountering "leaches", losses of hats and shoes, tipping over, and falling under the raft. Don't worry parents, we're all fine!!! As everyone finished, we had a bit of a swimming party. It felt incredible and we floated down the river on our stomachs; it was hard to stand up. We then went back to our bus all [View Full Entry]

Yes, we are behind on our blogs. Maybe hopelessly behind. We're just having too much fun to spend much time on the computer, which is how it should be. That's why I am breaking with tradition and posting a bunch of pictures of events that our fearless travelers have yet to describe. Enjoy the pictures even though you don't yet have the full story surrounding them! [View Full Entry]

I am so happy that our loyal readers are enjoying the blog entries. This project has exceeded my expectations. As of this writing, there have been over 1300 hits on the blog, as well as over 150 comments and messages. You should also know that the students love reading the blog comments. Given our rigorous schedule, the editor's day job, and various technical issues, we are falling a little behind on our entries and photos. My goal is still to have every willing student participate in writing a blog entry and to publish a photo of every student; but please be [View Full Entry]

Dear Family and Friends of the Class of 08, Today, just like other days, we woke up early. We packed up our bags and left Jerusalem. We went onto the bus, and for the first time on our whole trip we were not with Oz. We took a scenic route out of Jerusalem to Latrun, which is the armored corps' memorial center. After learning about the history of the IDF, we had some free time to play on the tanks that were on display. After Latrun, we took a bus ride to a playground for lunch. We enjoyed the sun and [View Full Entry]

Hey eighth grade family and friends, Today we split up into two groups and went to both a reform and conservative temple. The services were very similar to what they are like in Milwaukee; conservative like CBI and reform like Sinai. After the meaningful services we enjoyed a walk back to the hotel. Then we had lunch at the hotel with lots of singing and talking. Unfortunately there were still some sick eighth graders who couldn't go with us to temple and eat with us. Then some family and friends stopped by to hang out and have fun. While some of [View Full Entry]

We started our day with our earliest wake up: 6:00 a.m. Many of us did not want to get up out of bed and slept until 6:30 :), but by 7:00, we were all outside waiting for the bus. After a few minutes of waiting outside, we were told that the new bus driver overslept. Later, we found out that our new bus had broken down, and it would not come. We ended up calling our old bus driver, Oz, and finally left an hour and one half late. After a ride through the Judean Desert we finally arrived at Masada, [View Full Entry]
