Great night but the down side of a dorm is when you have a guy who decides to drink a lot when he is not use to it and then he asks for a sick bag...how many places really have sick bags- a toilet was normally my answer, luckily Bex gave him the bin just in time...ughhh...i don't like sick! Hello all... Forgot to tell you yesterday about my fruity experience with Mango- did you know you can get non-sweet mango...well you can which the guy also gave us with salty dip...we tried and made everyone else resulting in many faces lol. Well today we did the next day of intensive temples...well we went to see the grand palace, we actually got a tour guy who Sim (british guy here) asked a million and one questions- the poor bloke. Well half day as we didn't set off till 1 and then had lunch before exploring...I have decided the transport system here is quite simple in a complicated way...dare i say i may just about understand it lol... Well today, Avitol (a girl who is also staying in the hostel- from Switzerland) and i went to the Chatuchak weekend market...we both managed to tick off everything on our lists of things to buy...i got some lw long shorty things (cover the knee baggy type) and a long top- cover the shoulders and also managed to find some shawls (for temples and general cover up) and some sandals (non walking but still comfortable type)....this market is absolutely hugeee! Well had an interesting night last night... i went out with the 3 American girls who are also staying in the same dorm as me and they were insistent they wanted Pad Thai...well it seems it is not as common at night time as they wanted but we eventually found a road bloke who had the charm of speaking english who said he could make us some. This city smells...bad...so am hiding in the hostel again...i hear its only been open 3 months. Just been for some lunch but it was just about the worst meal i have eaten in Thailand...if not ever and i only had about 10 mouthfuls...didn't feel too good so treated myself to comfort food- well a bag of pineapple off and had a lie down in the dorm room. Today i went for a McDonalds.... Now that i have confessed, back onto my update... Left Phuket and got onto the overnight bus where i paid extra for the toilet and air con bus...spoiling myself and all that...not that i got much sleep as was next to someone who snored and although normally i can sleep like a log (As many of you know)...for some bizarre reason i could just not get comfy. Well finally packed up my stuff and am leaving the hostel (way too easily to make myself at home here), got the overnight bus which picks me up at 4.30pm (its 3pm now) and i arrive in Bangkok at 5am to Khao San road where i will get a taxi to Soi 1 guesthouse, not booked in there as you need a Visa or Mastercard but seems to be plenty of space. http://www.soi1guesthouse.com/index.htm Will let you know my plans when i know more...just thought i would add a mini update. xx [View Full Entry]

Well....was the first day of the festival today so we went to the first main event and well....i don't think i understand just why...i don't think i have ever seen such a deep sense of faith...very bizarre to watch as people go into trances- kids and adults who are dribblin and generally look like they are drugged up...very bizarre...
