English Corner Hello from Cali A co worker in my office is Chinese. We both enjoyed and got a good laugh from your "English Corner" story. Pictures r beautiful. Cant wait to see China in November!! :)
Buy me some Pumas Good stuff man, sounds like a great time. And who knew you had to go to China to find some black dudes to hang with....I keed!!!!! But seriously, if they let you bring stuff back...I wear an 11. ;-) Keep on keepin on and living the dream man!
Bargaining Your shopping experience sounds eerily similar to mine in Puerto Vallarta. Vendors everywhere trying to get you to buy their stuff. I was horrible at bargaining but my Venezuelan friend had no problem getting pesos knocked off her purchases all the time.
We had a tough time with the restaurant and bar bouncers trying to get us into their establishments. They would literally grab our arms and drag us into the clubs, even if we didn't want to go in. I can see how it could be scary for some tourists but I was familiar with it from my time in Greece.
Also, so jealous you got to see the Olympic Stadium! Glad you're having a good time :)
You must feel at home. They love watermelon? Ha, you have to feel right at home there...jk. Good stuff so far. So are people convinced you're an athlete of some sort? Oh, random nutritional note: a slice of watermelon has more potassium than a banana. Feel free to share that with your Chinese comrades. Sounds like a good time (and a bargain too)...live it up, bro.
Hi, that "pagoda" is the broadcast center. Bob Costas and Mary Carillo and all of NBC beamed the Olympics to the USA from there during the event. "Gold Mine" is the National Aquatic Center, also known as the Water Cube. It was, indeed, Michael Phelps' gold mine.
