Angel, Rach and Andreu
A new Catalan friend.

Rio Dulce Cabin - outside

Back in Naranjo after a fantastic trip. We had originally planned to head to the city of David in Panama and buy ourselves a run about. Unfortunately, David offers little, and this time around it was definitely not offering us a car. Such circumstances put us on the next minibus over the hill and straight to Bocas del Toro, the Caribbean. The trip itself is quite beautiful, and it’s worth staying awake if you want to take in the beautiful scenery - this information is second hand, as I was the idiot that slept 3 hours and 45 minutes of the [View Full Entry]

Sitting in a bit of a smelly bus, on the night ride to Cusco isn’t the most enjoyable, especially when we were told the seats would be beds... and they clearly are not. But enough complaining. I am glad that we waste not a day on travel, and save a nights worth of accommodation. The Isla Del Sol, in Lake Titicaca has a number of Archaeological sites on offer, which we thoroughly enjoyed exploring, however the highlight of the day was getting in a little bit of exercise and tramping it along the ridge of the island from north to [View Full Entry]

Friday 16th March Getting anywhere in Argentina takes a very long time, and in an attempt to be somewhere other than a city for my Birthday, we spent a day and a night (and 3 buses later) travelling from Iguazú all the way to Tafí del Valle, at the foot of the Andes. It was nice to be in the slightly cooler climate, and enjoying something a little more mountainous. Sick of sitting on buses, Àngel and I paced it up a somewhat large hill. A ‘hill’ might not sound impressive, but at a few thousand metres altitude, it is no [View Full Entry]

This guy was just sitting about before we even got on the boat. Aren´t they just so cool?
With the worst of the tummy bug gone, the only desired direction involved a very bumpy ride north to what we thought was a small town. The word town is relative, but this I would compare to something more like Whangapoa beach, 50 years ago... only the streets are nothing but sand, and the mosies are vengeful. Pellegrini’s main attraction is the incredibly huge ‘laguna’ (Wetlands) that covers over 13000sq km, and never really gets any deeper than 3 metres. We spotted a number of Caiman, capybara (that 60kg rodent I’ve always wanted to see,) 2 deer and a whole lot [View Full Entry]

Righty ho, time for our first blog, and so far we’ve made it from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Buenos Aires and onward and upward to a sweet little town called Mercedes. But let’s not jump too far ahead of ourselves just yet. Stopping over in Sao Paulo is not something we’ll be putting on the recommendations list. Let’s just say we were a pair of chicken lickens, more worried about the sky falling down than much else. Our Taxi driver was anything but reassuring and the TV news reported nothing but murder, kidnap, stabbings... The reality of the day was far [View Full Entry]

READY STEADY GO!

 Europe » Spain » Catalonia » Barcelona
Never thought the day would arrive, but here we are, all packed and ready to go. It’s always bitter sweet starting a new journey, but as much as we will miss those we leave behind, a little bit of ‘ha ha’ finds little difficulty in arising to the occasion! So much to see, so much to do. Latin America, here we come! Wish us luck!
