enjoy your return - From: Beautiful Weather in Budapest . . .
I had the chance to live in Hungary for a while and took many weekend trips to BP. Upon your return make every effort to get away from vaci utca and andrassy utca and venture into the more Hungarian parts of the city. Do not eat in restaurants with english or german menus - you'll be taken for a ride. Check out the House of Terror - uniquely presented 20th century history of the oppressive occupations of Hungary. Enjoy!

No photos at camps - From: Pierogies and Piwo in Poland (Part I)
I agree with you very much about not taking photos. I've visited these camps twice. Both time they felt to me like one of the holiest places on earth, and a place that must be respected and not defiled in some manner such as trashy photos.

kudos from home - From: Pierogies and Piwo in Poland (Part II)
Linda and Bill loved your blogs, especially poland part I, I don't know if they got part 2 but I will let them know it is posted. Also I think you have to change your intro now. Believe it to be a bit untrue that you haven't travelled much outside of the good old USA anymore. Do you want us to all help you pick a more appropriate one, we'd love to have a contest.

Easter branch whacking - From: Life in Brno
I was just wondering if you got whacked with the Easter branches or do the Czech boys only go looking to whack girls they know well enough or have Czeched out previously? Your punny mother!

Awesome photos - From: Sorry, I Don't Understand Czech
Enjoyed your narrative and your pictures...you can photo as many churches as you wish...it won't get old with us. As you point out they are so pretty. Also love the building and town shots because if I was there that is what I would love to do is walk around and see what there is to see. And of course it is always a plus to see photos of you and the people you are with, so the blog site is a really great innovation, I'd say. Thanks for taking time to share your time and travels with us, Laura!

nice to be nice - From: "It's Nice to Be Nice"--Daily Life in The Gambia
this comes from the Koran; It is nice to be important but it is more important to be nice. Try looking up the word nice in the dictionary the definition is surprising !

Try Hitchhiking Here - From: "It's Nice to Be Nice"--Daily Life in The Gambia
What do you think, I'm made of money? I was arguing with a taxi driver today (to get him to lower the fare 5 dalasis ($.20), and I said I was a student, which works because most students here are poor! And it's the truth!

Hey Loo, This was the best one, made me really feel like what it must be like for you. Hope all your walking makes you love walking - it is one of my favorite things, specially if there is something to see. Doubt I will come visit - you know I have to save my money for those college student children of mine - who will surely send me on a nice trip later after they are established in life. Love you, glad you are loving your trip. Chooch

You sound like quite the experienced traveller! Seriously, the more I read your entries, the more I wish Id come this semester too. sounds like everything is going well! I owe you an email! but I love reading this blog and seeing the pictures. Hows school? also, when the kids yell toubab at you, yell it back at them - it confuses them and shuts them up for the split second you need to explain anything :) we did it - it was fun and they thought it was hilarious too - good way to make friends with them! :) miss you!!!!

My little cousin, I am so jealous of you and your trip. What a wonderful opportunity and how brave you are. I do not think I would have had the guts to go off that far from the family at your age. (I am not sure I would do it alone at my age.) I am quite proud of you and brag about you and what you are doing all the time. Keep having a great experience and I will continue lurking. Love you bunches--Kelly

Laura - I LOVE your entries! It makes me homesick for it all - we stayed at the Fana too, i really liked it. And what room are you staying in in Banjul? Youre in the house I was in!! My room was the one to the left from the little hallway. And the bathroom - love your description of the shower - so true. But I appreciated the cold "showers" at night before going to bed. And hows my skirt? i liked the pic with you in it. I miss you! hope all is good - keep us posted! gros bisous - Marion

Oh chica! I miss you soo much already. And you didn't even leave yet! Oh, this is going to be a crazy few months for me. Anyway, I hope you have (or are having if your reading this while in THE Gambia) an awesome experience. I can't wait to hear all about it. I don't know how to close this. I can't say see you later, well I could, but later would mean almost 4 months, and that just doesn't seem right. Anyway, I'll be thinking about you often. Remeber, JUST SAY NO! ~Jolene
