Not so much planning required for this little trip compared to Australia. We felt that instead of going off to another country again, we should do some travelling around the lands of our birth. I think that we were trying to relive some of the 'good feeling' that we'd had while driving around in our Toyota Hi-ace Camper, so Phil bought a Toyota Corolla for the trip. Not quite the same eh, but at least we knew we had a better chance of getting there without breaking down... On Sunday morning, I woke up feeling really excited, it was going to [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, We arrived back home on Friday. I just thought that I'd update you on our adventures in Tokyo. We had a really good flight from Sydney to Tokyo, we both managed to get some kip and it did us so much good. When we got into Tokyo it didn't really take much effort to get on the train and get to Ikebukuro where we were staying, we were really suprised at how easy it was. We got to our hotel at about 9ish so we had to go back out and explore for a bit while they were sorting [View Full Entry]

Me enjoying myself to the full! It was choc chip and lovely! I got it all round my mouth as usual.
Dear all, This will be our last blog from Oz! We are leaving tomorrow. We have had a wonderful time and we are sad to be leaving, and we are both dreading coming back home to normality! We have spent the past few days exploring Sydney and its surrounding area. We have been to Darling Harbour - see pic attached. Its really good here and there are some nice restaurants which are kind enough to give us free alcohol (in return for a 'free' voucher) so we have been making the most of it! We have explored the Rocks and been [View Full Entry]

Hello all, Hope you all enjoyed your festivities on New Year. We had such a good time! We went to see the fireworks on the Bridge and it was specatcular. We were a bit squiffy at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, that was to take the pain away from having to wait for 2 hours to get into the viewing spot and then had to sit on a very steep hill to get a half decent, (but good compared to some people) view. We watched the first lot of fireworks at 9 o'clock from this spot but decided that we [View Full Entry]

Thanks for all the christmas wishes everyone! We have been in Melbourne for 5 nights (only another 3 to go!) and we have been having a fantastic time. We had a laugh on our first day trying to navigate the trams when we had no idea where we should be going and how to pay for it! After lugging the blasted suitcases around again we were both sweating and grateful when we found our hotel. The rest of our first day was spent walking about for hours! We also visited the Melbourne Gaol, where Ned Kelly was hung. It was a [View Full Entry]

Taken on our mammoth journey!
Hello all! Only 4 more sleeps till Christmas! Hope you are all ready and you have wrapped everything up and put it under your trees! We are sat in an air conditioned internet room at a campsite just outside Melbourne. Its great in here because outside its like 30 something degrees and we are sweating like piggys in blankets! So, we have come to the end of our time touring in our little camper - blub, both myself and Pip will really miss it because its become our home from home. It really gives you the freedom to go where you [View Full Entry]

Cowes, Phillip Island

 Oceania » Australia » Victoria
Dear all, We have just arrived in Cowes, on Phillip Island in South Victoria. We are here to see the world famous little penguins and some koalas in their natural habitat. Last night we stayed in Lakes Entrance, it was really lovely, with a huge beach and really nice town centre. More our kind of thing than a few of the places we have stayed recently. We had an afternoon on the beach and shock horror, I put my bikini on and laid out in the sun! The rays didn't really touch me though with my factor 30 on. Better safe [View Full Entry]

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy 1st Birthday for the 19th Jack! We drew this in the sand at Surfers Paradise for you! Have a lovely day Julia, Paul and the birthday boy. Love from Lucy and Phil. x
Well... We are getting used to our little home now. We have also managed to upload some pictures onto the blogs so you can all see what we have been getting up to. We have been travelling down the Gold Coast and into NSW for the past few days. We have stayed at a different campsite each night - some have been better than others! We drove out of Brisbane and down to Tambourine Mountain, where we had an exciting/scary walk through some rainforest to see Curtis Falls. We then made our way to Surfers Paradise- we both really liked it [View Full Entry]

Hello all, Since I last wrote anything on this blog, a lot has happened. We had a horrid journey from Hong Kong to Cairns. We worked out that we were awake for almost 26 hours... Anyway, the result of this was both me and P felt really sick. Sick enough to be holding sick bags! We had to force ourselves onto the connecting plane at Sydney to get up to Cairns. (Thanks for the pep talk Mum!) We eventually got to our hostel and after checking in with the loopy Gloria's help we went straight to sleep and did not resurface [View Full Entry]

Hello All, This is the 2nd attempt at writing this! I pushed the wrong button and everything disappeared! We are in Hong Kong! The flight was hell for me but P thought it was better than he had expected. It was worse because of the 5 or so panic attacks that I had on the way here! On our first day we fought our way through the manic crowds on Nathan Rd. to find our hotel. The YMCA is really good and yes mum they do provide towels! We then had a nap... for 4 hours. We needed it though and [View Full Entry]
