Autobahn traffic jams... I was stuck in one for hours but in one case followed some other drivers who left the autobahn across a farmers field to a local road. In another case, I got off at the next exit and took the back roads before eventually returning to the autobahn...right behind the bus that had been in front of us when we left the autobahn! I liked Vienna but only spent a lot of time there in 1964 and 1968...just passing through since then.
You are true adventurers... renting a car in India! I agree with you that getting off the beaten path is the best way to see a country. Indians in the villages are so friendly!
another quick, needed, crazy, busy, babymoon getaway With an incredible view like that ya know the bub's gonna be gorgeous! When Denise was about 7 to 8 months pregnant with Simon we drove a mobile home (RV) through far north Queensland. I'll never forget the stretch of 100 kms of corrugated road that Denise had to drive for fear of early delivery! Nikki's Canadian babymoon looks like an expectant mother's dream...and I bet the expectant father could not take the smile off his face!
Head in a tree Denise has been to Ayuttaya and I have not. Maybe a pilgrimage is in order so I can chat with this little guy peering from the roots of a Thai tree. Great pic.

"Old cobble-stoned streets and gorgeous wooden doors" These words take me back to Zanzibar...hopefully they take you back to Guatemala & Antigua...and the fabulous streetscapes in this blog.
Gorgeous Antigua and surrounds As soon as I read your first paragraph, my stomach clenched when I remembered those chicken bus drivers being total maniacs on those roads... it was a crazy drive! We were there in 2016 and cannot wait to visit it again :)
Tired from all the eating Your little fella doesn't seem to appreciate the treats on offer on your NYC fine dining quest...well not yet but over the years time will tell. I will get my Denise to read this blog...no more adroit food connoisseur one could find. We eat so well at home that restaurants have to be sublime to drag us out. Looks like you venture out to find and tuck into only the most sumptuous locales. Great food blog.
New Mexico We love deserts so recently were discussing how we have to get back to SW USA in the snow and give New Mexico a go. Also can see whales...wow...now that's a bonus!
tourist killed by elk head during earthquake Scared of falling elk heads and bears? I hear bears are very civilised. When our son was living in Whistler he found a bear in the lift at the tavern he was working in one evening! Gotta consider getting to Alaska...some of your pics are so dangerously enticing...maybe worth risking falling elk heads to enjoy dancing skies some day.
Malaysia I loved this blog post - I'm amazed at how many things you saw, did and ate in your time there :) Penang is a huge favourite of ours and we can't wait to go back!
Alaska You've made Alaska sound extremely appealing, and your bear and landscape photos are amazing... but this little cutie stole my heart! :) Looking forward to reading more of your blogs - I've bookmarked your Penang blog to read on the weekend. Cheers, Ren
What a fun way to decide your travel destination, using sky scanner. And You've sold me on Jamaica, especially your pictures of the blue mountains. Beautiful mon.
Great road trip! Love these signs, amazing roads with the 30-point turns, offers of great coffee and a joint and, of course, the specialty of you two--fabulous food! How fun the way you two plan your trips with Skyscanner--I love surprises!
