In honor of the one year anniversary of April 16th, our group decided to go on a hike to San Salvatore to reflect and celebrate the lives of the 32 innocent victims who died that day. God was present today, not only in our hearts but also in the beauty of nature and in the sunshine. neVer forgeT 4-16-07. [View Full Entry]

After getting home today from Athens, I have officially finished my last traveling trip in Europe. I can't believe it but the study abroad trip is slowly coming to an end. We have less than two weeks left and I can't believe that I have been to 9 different countries and 17 different cities in 4 months. AMAZING! Anyway, I will start from the begining of my week long break- Barcelona, Spain. To get to Spain we had to take a 15 hour train ride, which wasn't so bad, but we didn't have one of those sleeper car beds but instead [View Full Entry]

Cinqueterre

Europe » Italy » Liguria » Cinque Terre
Hello Everyone, Just wanted to update you on my latest adventure. On saturday me and a group of 4 other girls headed 5 hours away to a place in Italy called Cinqueterre. It consists of 5 small towns and you hike to get to each one. What an adventure it was- we left at 6am from lugano, arrived around 11:30am and began hiking at 12am. For those of you who may know her- on my trip hiking I ran into Kendal Wallace and her family- small small worl, but pretty neat (for those of you who don't know who Kendal [View Full Entry]

Paris

 Europe » France » Īle-de-France » Paris
Hello Everyone, I know it’s been a while since my last update but I have a lot of new travel news to tell you about. Mom came to Lugano last Wednesday to visit and to go to Paris with me this past weekend. We had an amazing time! The weather wasn’t the greatest in Paris but we stuck it out and enjoyed as much as we could with the unpredictable weather. Starting with Moms first day in Lugano we went to Milan and saw the Duomo there and walked around and just looked at all the different shops. They were obviously [View Full Entry]

What a great weekend! I spent this past weekend in Lugano with about 15 other people who decided to stay around the city this weekend. It was fun but also relaxing. On Friday me Allie and Brittany went to the park and played around on the kiddie toys and then just sat and talked in the sun because the weather was so nice. Then we headed back to the Montarina and we all hung out and Brittany and I watched a movie in my room and had dinner together. On Saturday I got up and ate breakfast outside on our little [View Full Entry]

Rome

 Europe » Italy » Lazio » Rome
This past weekend we went to Rome and it was awesome! We arrived on Friday night around 7pm and we decided to grab dinner and then go on a night walk around the city. In one of our travel books it suggested doing this walk which was only supposed to take us an hour but ended up taking us about 3 hours to do. We started out by walking to the Spanish steps in the Piaza di Spagna which is where people sit on the steps at night and play music and hang out and drink wine. There are many men [View Full Entry]

-City One: VENICE, Italy We went to Venice for Carnivale which is basically the equivalent of Mardi Gras in the states. There are tons of people, costumes, drinking, music, partying- it’s crazy. But when we arrived there it was night time on Friday night and the lights on the water and all over the city were so beautiful. The streets were lined with vendors all selling these amazing masks with so much detail and so many colors. People were dressed up in all sorts of costumes that people say take them a year or more to create. On Saturday we walked [View Full Entry]

It is 68 degrees here right now and I am sitting outside on the patio with my computer. Today couldn’t be a prettier day- I will probably go on a run or go to the basketball court that is right by our school at some point this afternoon. I can’t pass up taking advantage of the gorgeous weather. On a different note, I went to Munich this weekend and the weather was FREEZING. Luckily we all packed enough clothes to keep us warm but it was still a very chilly weekend. We got to Munich Friday night around 1045 pm [View Full Entry]

Florence, Italy

 Europe » Italy » Tuscany » Florence
I just got home tonight from a weekend in Florence. It was amazing! We went on Saturday morning to the Academia to see Michelangelo’s the David. When we arrived we weren’t sure exactly how the museum worked but when we turned the corner we saw the David down the hallway. I was absolutely awe struck- it was amazing and the pictures do not do it justice- you have to go visit it in person if you ever get the chance. First of all, the sculpture is made of marble yet it looks as smooth as glass. 2nd, it is the most [View Full Entry]

I had a great weekend!! You will never believe all the things that I did. (Incase you don’t read any further maybe I can entice you by telling you that I WENT SKYDIVING IN THE ALPS!!!!) So on Friday we got out of school early around 12 pm and we rushed to get our bags from our place and went to the train station. We caught a 1pm train and headed to Bern (the capital of Switzerland). We arrived in Bern around 6pm and found our way to our hostel. When we checked in the man told us about a restaurant [View Full Entry]
