have just arrived here in london from scotland.edinburgh was great fun. a really nice city - very easy to live in i imagine. i stayed with a few friends, who i'd met along the way - nice to be part of a house again. i'm staying with a friend here in london too. gotta love making contacts in foreign places!!! not that london is exactly foreign now. now, back to edinburgh. i only really had two full days there - but i managed to do all that i wanted to in that time. the first day - wednesday, (after talking to the family about chloe) i went to the castle. it was pretty cool. a bit boy-ish though. lots of war stuff so not really my scene. still good to go to. then i was a ... read more

i have a niece!!!!! i'm now a member of the secret auntie's club!! nai and matt had a baby this morning - chloe jemima. i've seen photos already - she's soooo cute. i'm not at all biassed of course. so exciting. i still can't believe it really. it's all so lovely. anyway, scotland.... hmmm. i arrived last night and haven't seen/done anything!! so - not much to report. the rest of ireland was great. just did the touristy stuff and a spot of shopping. great shopping there - what can i say!! i survived my second ryan air flight without too much hassle. so now only one easy jet flight left - to get back to london!! yay!! should be fun. i'm staying with some friends here in edinburgh. it's nice to be part of a ... read more

so much fun!!! i just arrived back from my 6 day southern ireland tour today. i had a great time. we got to see and do so much stuff but it was really relaxed and cruisey - at the same time as seeing a lot. hmmmm. what did i do. i can't really remember as i haven't had any time to reflect on it but a few major highlights were ... kissing the blarney stone, seeing the cliffs of moher, driving around the dingle peninsular and the ring of kerry. the scenery is absolutely amazing in ireland. i was told how green it was but nothing could prepare me really. most of the time was spent on tiny country lanes in extraoridnarily picturesque areas. we had great fun on our nights out too. thursday was probably ... read more

well, i arrived here in ireland today. i was meant to arrive at 12ish, but the flight was delayed so eventually got in at 3. thanks ryan air!! lucky i didn't have any plans. since tours i've been to paris for an overnight stay, then moved on to london. caught up with a few friends in london, took myself off to harrod's and royal albert hall, but had pretty much done all the sightseeing things i wanted to do last time. i went down to visit mary and co (relatives) for a few days which was lovely. got back to london last night - more socialising, now am here today. i start a 6 day tour tomorrow of western and southern ireland which should be fun. ... read more

san seb - seems so long ago now!!! what happened.... not much. a lot of relaxing, eating and (window) shopping. had a few fun nights out, of course. then moved on to bordeaux. bordeaux was quite lovely. i had to share a bed with a girl i met at check in!!! strange experience. went out to saint emilion, a really cute little town about a half hour train ride away. did a wine tour the 2nd day. tours is gorgeous. slight contrast in that i had a double room all to myself!!! yay!!!! so nice. i went out to a chateau yesterday. chenenceau. it was amazing. built over a river and massive, with gorgeous gardens. i want t be a princess and live there!!!! i'm off to paris this arvo then london tomorrow. got to love ... read more

only had 2 nights in madrid but managed to fit quite a lot in. had great fun. i was a bit wary of madrid as i had been warned that it wasn't a very attractive city and the best place was the train station. i don't agree at all. madrid is really a beautiful place with magnificent architecture and wide paved streets. i really liked the city. i wish i had a bit more time there, but oh well. i got there on tuesday night and went out on the town. had a great time with the girls that we've been hanging out with for about 2 weeks who had arrived in madrid a few days before us. wednesday i went sightseeing on my own. went to the palace and wandered around the streets. palace was ... read more

have had a lovely and relaxing few days here in salamanca. off to madrid this arvo for a few more days now. salamanca is a very picturesque university town, with lots of sandstone buildings and cobbled streets (of course, cobbled streets....) lisbon was a great city too. had heard a few bad things about it before i arrived, but it managed to outdo it's expectations for me. it's quite a sprawling city - so i had to walk lots!! went to a nice castle that overlooks the city and also did a day trip out to sintra. a very quaint little town with lots of palaces and castles!! a very nice day out. had a bit of a crazy night on the last night in lisbon - a friend's birthday. good fun though. i put some ... read more

have just arrived here a few hours ago so haven't seen much yet. just had to report on my last night in lagos!! it was so much fun. what can i say. we accidentally crashed a birthday party and it all turned out so well. some friends walked past a karaoke bar on their way back from dinner and so we decided to start our night there. we went back and had a great time - singing our lungs out.... then they bring out the cake and everyone starts singing happy birthday to this portugese guy. we had absolutely no idea what to do!!! it was so funny. they were so nice and welcoming so we weren't uncomfortable at all. they even gave us birthday cake and champagne!! aren't we lucky. it was so much fun ... read more

i have to say that any other holiday will not be too far from the beach. i love it - what can i say. i arrived here on friday and have quickly slipped in to the lagos lifestyle of beaching it in the day and partying at night with lots of yummy seafood in between. food is so cheap here -it's great!!! i love it all. i've had a great group of friends here and have loved hanging out and not doing much else - as such i don't have much to report!! weather is about 30 degrees and hot and sunny. went to the south-westernmost point of europe yesterday. yay!! tried to find the surf beach, but failed, so will try again tomorrow.... read more
