Well, it's so hard to believe that we're already getting ready for Christmas around here. The year has flown by for me here. I can't believe that it's the 1st of Dec. tomorrow!! And I also can't believe that I'm going back to Canada in just over 2 weeks either. Crazy stuff! So where to begin...well I'm not sure if I told you guys yet or not, but I'm going to 3 places over Christmas. First, Peter and I will go to Montreal to see my brother and his family along with my grandparents and aunt. Then I will go to [View Full Entry]

The Shadows
The Shadows
I loved taking shots like these - very artsy I know, but I love it!
Well I've officially seen another major European city. Berlin! I absolutely loved it. It was most definitely high up on the list of favourite places. It was very chilly, but despite the cold weather, it was gorgeous. I loved the modernity of it all. I was quite surprised actually. I thought it wouldn't be so modern, because most of the places I've been to thus far in Europe has had very old looking architecture. Considering I was only there for 2 full days, and I wasn't feeling 100% when I left for Berlin, I saw quite a bit. I had some [View Full Entry]

Learning Polish!

 Europe » Poland » Masovia » Warsaw
Just wanted to tell everyone that I'm officially learning Polish! :-) I had my first lesson today and considering how hard a language it is to learn, and it is my first lesson, I did pretty well! :-) I'm gonna have them weekly, and from what I've heard, I have a VERY good teacher. I'm gonna be a polish speaker before I know it! :-) Devesienya! No idea how to spell it but it means have a good evening! :-) Type soon! :-) [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! I know, I know it's been AGES since I've updated this thing. The main reason that is because I've been having troubles with my blog lately. I added an entry about Prague but it wasn't updating and wasn't coming up on the blog. Anywho, I finally got it up and running. Things here are going well. I've settled into my new amazing flat with Peter, and we're really enjoying the luxury of all this space. I'm also getting settled in my new school as well! I love it there so far and the kids that I teach (ages 5) [View Full Entry]

Auschwitz

Also was in Auschwitz - was a wonderful, but difficult experience.
Well everyone, I'm back from my trip in Prague! My parents and I had a wonderful time, even tho it was extremely hot. We saw a lot of amazing stuff, and it was absolutely beautiful. Flights were smooth going and coming to Warsaw. I can't say much else so I'll just have to post some pics for you all to see! :-) I'm off to Canada in a couple days, and in the process of packing up my flat to move on. It's extremely busy right now! And I can't believe there's only 3 weeks left until summer is over! Bye [View Full Entry]

Hey guys! Wow, what a crazy weekend. The plan was to go to Berlin this weekend, but that didn't happen because I forgot my passport at home! Of course I'd need identification to cross the border! I totally didn't think about it - I had so much other things to think about. Anyway, I was pretty much freaking out on our way there - as soon as Peter asked me whether I had my passport. At that point, we made a plan. At first we thought about getting off at the first stop and just turning back and going back [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, well we're back safe and sound in Warsaw. Peter and I were at the cabin in Northwest Poland (the place was called Bialy Bor) for 5 days. It was great except the weather was horrible. It felt like fall, not at all like summer! It was raining pretty much the entire time, and it was about 15 degrees max. during the day. It was a good time nonetheless, and I got some relaxing time in which I really needed. The train back was pretty bad - it took us about 9 hours total travelling time. has been really [View Full Entry]

And I can't believe I forgot to post a pic of the beautiful swans that we saw while on our cabin trip! They looked so peaceful, and it's something that I'd never see in a place like this! [View Full Entry]

Well, I've had my first experience at a polish wedding and let me tell you, it was something that I've never experienced before! It was so much fun, and it's a lot different than a Canadian wedding that's for sure! Polish people are all about their vodka here that's for sure, I found it a little hard to keep up! And they also like to eat a ton. :-) I had a wonderful time, and I'm so glad that I went. I'm going to see to stay on a lake as soon as school is over (on the 7th) for 5 [View Full Entry]
