Our last entry!...well for this leg anyway (you poor poor souls!) Currently getting ourselves psyched up for overnight flight back to Glasgow & not feeling the love! Ok so after the hellish drive through the pouring rain with horrendous hangovers (but with our designated legal driver behind the wheel - she may be Irish & drunk but she's not all bad...!) we managed to get a ferry over to Vancouver Island. WOOOO! Las Vegas baby!!! How much does this place rock?!! Loud, neon, tacky & prostitution is legal. What more could you ask for? (Just kidding about the last bit, actually don't think it's legal but you wouldn't know that being here!) We stayed in 1 of the hotels on the Strip called the Stratosphere which was cool. It had a pool, hot tub, casino, tower, revolving restaurant, 3 rollercoasters & a nightclub! It was mentally hot too - though only by our low standards apparently as all the locals insisted 90F is actually pretty chilly! Nutters. Spent the 1st few days lying by the pool, gorging at the all-you-can-eat buffets, drinking cocktails (NB its a dangerous game drinking in posh bars, putting your card behind the bar and ordering drinks with no advertised price!) & touring ... read more

I know, I know, it's been a long time since we updated this...but we've been busy!! Since our last (/1st) entry Linz and I took to the Canadian roads in our very own wheels of steel!!! (Still can't quite believe they hired it to us - especially after I attempted to turn it on and kangaroo jumped it across the car park!!) And yes, it was at times as horrendous as it sounds...note to others - it's not the brightest idea to arrive in a city at night, with no map, no where organized to stay and not speaking a word of french!!
