For the third morning in a row i got up at the crack of dawn for a little breakfast, then a trek to the bus station. I don't know if i mentioned this before, but walking can be interesting because cars often park directly on the sidewalk. So for some of the time you're on the sidewalk - then you're dodging cars on the busy street just to get around the one in your way! Ooooohhhhh man i'm really feeling all this walking today! I have blisters on my feet and my quads and calves are sore but it's a good feeling! that and a cold shower....brrrr thinking about a cold shower in edmonton is making me laugh :) So today is my last day in beautiful Kuala Lumpur. I'm learning that i have a suspect but also incredible sense of direction. Yesterday was the day when Emily and I parted ways - we woke up at the crack of dawn to make it to the bus station, and boarded separate buses - her to Paulu Pangkor and myself to Kuala Lumpur. This time when they said the bus was 2.5 hours - it was actually 2 hours, so when the bus stopped i had to scramble to get off! Emily and I left the little island of Singapore on Saturday and headed into Malaysia. We learned to find out EXACTLY when the buses run, because by the time we made it to the bus terminal we had to wait a little over two hours for the next bus to Melaka. And of course, it started pouring, which seemed to be a theme for us in Sinapore. We were told the bus was about three hours...six hours later we arrived in Melaka. When Emily and I finally got to our hostel yesterday (this awesome place called the Traveller's Rest Stop), we were soooooo exhausted and jet lagged i think we slept a crazy amount of time (maybe 15 hours!!??) so we ended up not doing anything our first day here but seeing the cute little dorm room we were in (i got the top bunk!) We had two roommates who came at the wee hours of the night, and then i think i woke up about 4am - couldn't get back to sleep. Our Singapore adventure was beginning! So we finally made it...it took us just over 36 hours to make it to our destination, but finally we're here! i'm sooooo tired of sitting on planes! We had a 12 hour stop over in Los Angeles, and as Emily and I were getting off the plane we met two really cool people (Blair and Leslie) who as it turns out, met each other on the plane ride as well. Friday night - no better time for a "going away party!" Emily and I enjoyed an intimate dinner in a private room at Joey's with close family and friends, then went over to the Druid - lots of laughs, cocktails, and dancing!
