Today was another good day. We went to the Cotton Market which is basically an indoor flea market with "knock-off" goods. We got 5 purses total, all Versace and Dolce & Gabana for $65USD. Linda purchased 2 IPOD Nano's for $25USD and we both bought 5 Rolex watches for 50USD. For lunch we had KFC and it was the greatest! I totally hogged down(hoggzilla a.ka. Snickers a'la way of Jossalyn):) I then did the evening at the spa here in the hotel. I received an Aromatherpy bath (30 minutes) and a traditional Chinese Massage (1 hour). No words. I had a [View Full Entry]

If you have been noticing a trend I have been starting my blog stories off with Linda Taggart antics. I figured why stop know.... Linda Taggart is a cat napper. She naps wherever and whenever she can or cannot help it, plane, the bus, Peking Opera..etc..etc. Me on the contrary, if I lay down, I am out for the count, no naps here unless I can sleep for two hours plus. Well again, after a very long day (7:00am-10:00pm) at the Great Wall of China, Jade shopping, Ming Tombs, Peking duck dinner, Peking Opera (Linda has napped in between all [View Full Entry]

Today was a great day! We slept till noon, had room service, experienced the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool. We then finished the day with the Beijing Acrobatic show. The show was what you would expect -- excellent. Everyone stayed awake for this one. I am partial to the Peking Opera because it was something I had never seen or ever heard. It was the true China experience, to me that show really brought the whole trip together and really made me realize how far away from Snickers I was. Not to down play the Acrobats, but honestly if you [View Full Entry]

First let me start by saying it is now 11:15pm and Aunt Linda has me up typing on the blog, knowing darn well 6:00am comes fast and early and it will be like moving the Rock of Gilbratar to get me out of bed! I will be skipping breakfast tommorrow to get that xtra hour of zzz's. Toilets-This has been byfar the biggest adjustment for ME and most of the tour group here in China. Linda is well accoustomed(don't know how or why) but I have found a loop hole! Use the handicapp bathrooms while you are here in China, they [View Full Entry]

Our Tour Group Several of you have asked about our tour group. There are four bus loads of us on this Collette Vacation. We have people from Texas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and of course Pittsburgh and Baltimore. One of our tour mates is a lovely lady named Fran. She mentioned at dinner last night that the high school that she taught at in Ohio called Wilton Woods was here in China performing [View Full Entry]

ENTERED BY: Jossalyn Today, we got started at 6am with the buses leaving at 8pm for the Summer Palace. Breakfast was....what it was. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a breakfast eater nor a morning person, so this morning was a morning. We were scheduled for visiting the Summer Palace first, then off to the Panda's at the Beijing Zoo. If you didn't know the Summer Palace in Beijing was used as a summer residence by China's imperial rulers - as a retreat from the main imperial palace now known as the Palace Museum (or 'Forbidden City') - [View Full Entry]
