Give it up...you'll never catch us! LOL! We hope to really load up on countries on this trip. Now, all I need to know is...umm....is this Blackfish? It would be good to know so we torture the right person when we get back!
It'll be interesting to see if they can add a port. That happened to us on the Panama Canal cruise, a couple weeks before leaving they actually added a port in Huatulco, Mexico. Eight days at sea would be long, considering most cruises are only 7 - 10 days!!! I'm just so happy you got ahead of the storm.
Most likely the State Department posted an advisory about travel to Russia given the recent events in Georgia, and the cruise line decided to be cautious. Still, 8 days at sea is a lot, especially where you are crossing.
I found out about your blog from Marc and Eliana's "Not All Who Wander Are Lost" blog. I think both of these trips are fabulous adventures and I hope you enjoy the cruise. I thought I might catch up to you in number of countries cached in, but I think this puts it out of range for me! Have a great time and find lots of caches )
I just wish that they would give us another port; so far we are only getting another "sea day". It was already 6 days at sea to get there from Seattle. Will it be 8 days to Japan? That's a tad long at sea without getting off! So much for our shore excursion with the ATV trip to a nearby volcano!
Seattle We get in on the 16th (Tues.) and the cruise leaves in the afternoon on the 19th (Fri.) We plan to be at the dock by around Noon. Only things we have planned is a musical (Phantom of the Opera) on thurs nite and one day we want to go to Victoria. You guys can't be the only ones to get to western Canada!
Oops! Hee hee, yeah well you wouldn't have fit in there with all the others that asked! Sorry! You live vicariously thru me and I'll live thru you girlie! Give that hub of yours a hug from me!
Let the good times roll! Woo-hooo! The journey begins! When will you guys be in Seattle? I just contacted TedCool about getting together. Aside from the Project APE cache, there is also Groundspeak Headquarters there! We got invited for a tour there -- will you be in town on a Friday by any chance?
Who hoo! We got back Sat. nite and, today, the wind is blowing so hard, the windows are "bending." We should've stayed in Maine and you were smart to get going.
Safe travels!
Hugs,
N
Safe Travels Just make sure you travel safe, and if you take the turn pike make sure to stop by a Publix and pick up a Speed Pass I think its called I may be wrong but its the thing that automatically pays for tolls from a credit card. Plus it saves you money. I thought I would pass along a cool site that I came across its called
www.baraaza.com
Its a cool site for travelers or people that know a lot about a certain area, its a good site to interact with other people. Check it out and tell me what you think. Thanks and travel safe.

Have GPS; will travel! We will take our time with the drive as we don't need to be there until the 13th. Since we've driven this route many, many times we have gotten caches in all those states. Doesn't mean that we won't get any more though! We'll also drive up to Wisconsin and nab that one too! This is nothing compared to your 10,000+ mile drive you guys! Read about them here: http://www.marcandeliana.com/
Project APE is one of only two remaining caches that was placed as a tie in to the Planet of the Apes movie from a few years ago. The number is GC1169. It is generally regarded as part of the Geocaching trifecta--original cache, groundspeak HQ and APE cache. And it is most definitely NOT a micro:)
you should try for the APE cache. The area was still snowed in when I was there. I think it is about a hour east of Seattle.
BTW--I am insanely jealous of you guys! Have a great time!
Packing Cubes You guys should look into Eagle Creek packing cubes. We packed and organized all of our clothing for our trip into these packing units and it's great! Super compact, oragnized, and efficient! Glad we didn't pack one ounce of formal wear for our adventure :)
My husband and I have embarked on a trip that is taking us from south Florida to Seattle, cruise the Pacific Rim, then San Diego back to south Florida. ... full info

....sounds romantic....probably in Japanese it means "outhouse" or "pig slop" or something of the sort!
