| 14th March 2007 Sare-ha | see the new you soon, non-chump! - From: the end...or just the beginning...? Safe travels home. I will miss your blog. Could you not just make up foreign countries and blog about your adventures to those places? Make them be full of cliches and annoyances balanced off by the kind-heartedness of strangers. WAIT - do that and then turn the imaginary blogs into a book, sell the book and make enough to travel again for real. Don't forget, the dishes stack in an alternating fashion and the hydro bill is $500 so I am turning off this computer now! L, S (PS You win the first to wish me a happy b-day award - thanks!) |
| 14th March 2007 alifa | hey hey hey - From: the end...or just the beginning...? so this is my first comment, a little late i know, but i have enjoyed your blogs and after reading this one i cant wait to hear about your travels on friday, hope you have a safe journey home and as for extra happy pizza, didnt know there was such a thing, thanks for looking out! |

It won't be the same without your blog as my homepage. |

| 1st March 2007 Jane | Accuntuate - From: accuntuate the positive, eliminate the negative It wasn't just a spelling mistake, if that's what you're getting at: the word was super offensive, and I'm not just going to sit back and hold back a loud "INAPPROPRIATE!" |
| 1st March 2007 Lexatron | bah! - From: accuntuate the positive, eliminate the negative not everyone is an English masters student like you! *raspberry* |

I just got home from a weekend at marina's cabin on galiano which was super enjoyable. reading break right now, I'm in my fleece bathrobe with no bra, loving life obviously. should probably try and do work today but....blah! can't wait till you get home!!!! |

| 14th February 2007 Gal from Butt Scratch, SK | no brain drivers - From: follow the Ho Chi Minh Trail... The drivers have no brains there 'cause they used to ride bikes and then got hit while not wearing a helmet while cycling. They took the insurance money and bought a car 'cause that is way safer to be hitter, not the hittee. So I guess they aren't that stupid after all, 'cause they figured that out even after their accident. |
| 13th February 2007 Helene | Aww Big hug! - From: Hannoyed! Hey, I'm sorry that you're having a poo day/time. Doesn't sound fun at all. Chocolate icecream/cake/just chocolate in general does make everything feel better (unless you're like me and have too much and thenyou feel sick!) :) I'm not on gchat this week as I'm out at a job so I can't send you an instant hug! Instead here you go *HUG*. Hope things get better, I'm sure they will. Take care and keep smiling! Hxxx |
| 11th February 2007 Jane | - From: follow the Ho Chi Minh Trail... Pavlov's dogs, hey? Hear the music, expect the mag-illusion. SO funny. |
| 9th February 2007 adeline | I'm so jealous - From: if a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil... Enjoying reading about your adventures in the land of my peoples. Right now I'm sitting in a cafe on Commercial Dr and happy to be here but still a the green-eyed monster is slowly rearing her small head. Brings back memories of mine own adventures. So glad you did the Easy Rider thing but you should have contacted Eddie Murphy - he was so halarious. That's super fantastic that you met a guy that shagged our beloved dodgy Uncky Steve. Adeline |
| 7th February 2007 Jane | A(hole) Channel - From: if a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil... It's a small world after all. Someone from A-Channel was filming at UVic a couple of months ago at the bus loop, and I accidently got in front of the woman's shot; she said something super pissy to me, and I'll never forgive the station for it. |

| 22nd January 2007 anonymous | - From: blogstreet's back, alright! We keep hearing that Vietnam is a beautiful, safe country. You have survived a military coup, a no-go travel advisory a day after a bombing, and a visit to the military dicatatorship next door. So be very careful in a country that is supposed to be safe, you might have trouble there! |

| 3rd January 2007 Emily | ya dead man? - From: happy new year! hey babe, just hope you're ok ion bangkok, now you be careful I don't want to reform my crude and innapporpriate sense of humor reggarding amputees if you get your self blown up in baNGKOK. i know i know, so far like only 3 people have been killed, and I'm being annoying about worrying but really, you'd be annoyed if nobody was worried about you getting detonated. love you tons! |
| 2nd January 2007 dad | please check the travel advisory for thailand/burma - From: happy new year! Hi Alexis, we sent you an email but thought you might see this first. Several bombs went off in Bangkok, causing the US, Britain, Canada, and Australia to advise people NOT to travel there. You might want to read the advisory and check out the news before getting on a plane. The tone of the news we are hearing is not good. Please be careful and keep in touch! Love, Dad |

| 15th December 2006 Jane | AH - lex - ES! AH - lex - ES! - From: dhoom machale! What's goin' down? Sounds like you are having a blast. I couldn't help but notice that in this post you mistakenly spelled "longest" as "lonest"--is this a slip revealing something?? I think not, judging from the exciting dino digs with Fran you have to look forward to. I spent a lunch break with Muhommad two days ago. He's looking into horseback riding lessons. Keep having fun! Jane |

I sometimes feel when you're telling your stories that I should be there with you. Second - I really enjoyed this latest entry. It was funny. I laughed out loud. No doubt Morgan made some comment about it in the living room. I don't care. You're funny. Third - I'm waiting on that e-mail. I have an interview with Disney on Wednesday and a sleepover date with Nic (the paramedic I was dating before and am now dating again) that I want to tell you about. Fourth - I love you and miss you. If at any point you can get a hold of the show "Brothers and Sisters" (currently airing on ABC) I think you should. I often think about you while watching it with Alifa. Love Allan |

I'll probably be here for a week then heading south - not sure where yet but want to do the beach thing for a few days before heading probably into Cambodia. Sounds like you're having a blast. I'm not sure if we'll get to meet up since you'll be heading to Malaysia and that's not on my schedule. But it would be cool if we could meet up eventually. Keep in touch. |
| 24th October 2006 Morgan | I do know that song - From: almost paradise Hello my lovely. So I am sorry that this is the first contact I have made with you since you have been away. Me = bad friend...but we knew that going into this really. I was no better with Emily. Anyways, it is lovely hearing all your stories and knowing that you are having so much damn fun while the rest of us yuppies are in school. All in all I just really wanted to write because that was an excellent use of the term crack shack. Keep up the good work sport. |
| 21st October 2006 uncle loop | Looped in Victoria - From: almost paradise Mt. Washington just offered me a ski instructor job so when you get back in March I'll be able to give you ski lessons to get that scuba nonsense out of your head. Both Tom and Sarah visited last week. Had an excellent Tiawanise dinner with Tom, Lynn, Sandra, Sarah, Sally, Karl, Jack, Allison, and Judy. Thanksgiving was great! We saw Will twice in one weekend, after not seeing him for a long time. Hard to believe he's 26! Great to hear that you found a place to relax for a bit. The excitement is what it's all about - with short rests. Great stories. Too bad you have no tunes. Good that you can make up your own. More Loop stuff later |

| 13th October 2006 Sosa | It's a small world... - From: SCUBA! So I've tried to keep up with your posts and then life got too effing busy! I had to read like 4 of your posts to catch up with life a la Asia. Congrats on being a certified scuba lady and if you happen to track down James, tell him that I said hello. PS: the posts are never boring - just imagining you pissed off about Thai pop music or laughing at stupid shit makes me smile! |
| 13th October 2006 Ter Step | Sure Post was Great - From: SCUBA! Well, I am sure your Scuba post was great. Congratulations on now being a certified scuba diver. |
| 10th October 2006 Emily | so glad - From: oh it burns! hey yo, so glad you're living life in hammock land and lovin it h-core. Everybody needs a shitty sunburn at least once a month, and you being verging on albino I'm amazed the old life brand held up that long. We had a thanksgiving feast here yesterday, I now know what it is like to have a giant fire ball shoot out of an oven at my face. It didn't hurt at all but a few hairs are radically singed and some of my left eye's eye lashes got a little bit shorter than they were before. anyways, must get to class, hey: put up some pix!!!! love you |
| 8th October 2006 ouch | that's gotta hurt - From: oh it burns! sorry to hear about the sunburn. have fun diving! also, are comments getting "premoderated" aka "deleted"? much prefer postmoderated comments. |
| 6th October 2006 S | LOL - it still is funny - From: howling at the moon Not just Amazing Race - you probably looked like someone from ANTM too! |
| 5th October 2006 CO-JONES | - From: it's all for you Maybe we could type some interesting things in these comments that you could print off and read on the beach. Wonder how long it would take to type in "Ulysses", and how many comments that would use up? Sorry, we have nothing exciting going on in our own lives, so a blog about getting wet in Cambodia is pretty darned interesting to us. |
| 3rd October 2006 Helene | Hello, good luck! - From: it's all for you Hey, Have just caught up on all your adventures after being away for 2 weeks without internet! I survived, Yay me! :) Glad you are having a great time, sounds like you have lots to tell, well not today but from other days!! Good luck finding a new book to read! Love Hxx |
| 29th September 2006 WHO WANTS TO NKOW | OK, WE'RE DESPERATE - From: cloudy beach days Tried searching for your photos but the search puts us back to the login screen when we search for redhedsrock7. All of the help is aimed at members not looky-loos, so we can't figure out how to find your photos yet!!! Is this like one of those puzzles in the Da Vinci Code??? Maybe some iambic pentameter would do the trick. We will try again later when we have more time. They do have instructions on how you can link the HTML or the IMG's to your blog. Maybe in a later chapter you can send the solution. |
| 27th September 2006 WHO WANTS TO KNOW | - From: Sick as a dog... All Poms are the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (This is officially not a slur according to new Aussie sports regulations against racism at sporting events) |
| 27th September 2006 Shawnsie | awwww - From: Sick as a dog... Awww Alexis. I hope you feel better. That british guy is a total wanker, I'm glad you got away from him. Keep on being you! and be safe. love you! |
| 25th September 2006 Sare-ha | Dead Things on Sticks - From: buh bye Bangkok Hey there! Not sure about this comment thing. It seems so... public (like if I had just misspelled public, everyone would know)! Anyhow, did you get the email I sent right after you left? Did you negotiate for your fisherman pants, eyebrow and massage? You could likely find someone to pay to shave you too (but dicker for that - never pay retail!). Anyhow, the "dead things on sticks" is the comment title because that is one of the first sites that popped up when I went on-line tonight to sign you and me up to the Danny Finkleman Fan Club. Yeesh! I know his show is off the air now, but a dead thing on a stick? That isn't even kind! Miss you, Sarah |
| 25th September 2006 Ms. Jealllllllllllllllllllllllous! | Sunburned or just bad lighting? - From: buh bye Bangkok A-Rod: try not to piss off Buddha with the bare shoulder thing again if you run into him. Tiger pic was too kewl for words...um, are you like moi and get really sunburned or is my laptop screen a piece of crap? Anywho, have fun in Cambodia and try not to cause a military kafuffle this time ;0) Sosa |

| 22nd September 2006 Kristen | tigers & elephants - From: coup d'etat! Do you remember when we rode the elephant at the LA zoo? I am thinking that riding one in the jungles of Thailand is a lot cooler. Tigers! I hope they were drugged to the teeth. Teeth being the important part here. For your sakes not theirs. Tigers on dope? They might prefer it that way. Stay safe. Love, Kristen |
| 22nd September 2006 Allison | Yeah for the tiger - From: coup d'etat! Thank you! you did the only thing i wanted you to do on your whole trip (pet a tiger) and you've only been gone a week!!!! you rock my socks travel cousin lol hope you're safe and all that stuff love you! |
| 21st September 2006 Emily | You have nice breasts - From: coup d'etat! Heyo, glad you're kosher, I wasn't all that worried, as I said to alifa, I'm sure Alexis would just talk her way out of any kind of immediate trouble. I'm glad you noticed that the tigers were drugged, but it's nice to know that the elephants wern't well, hopefully they wer't, I don't think riding a drugged elephant would be a good thing, kind of like driving with Kurt Cobain. Anyways, I took the day off yesterday and went shopping, bouight a ton nof stuff, it was cool beans, obviously not as cool beans as a coup d'etat or something like that but oh well. well you little lovah, keep rocking the free, well I guess in this case it's miliatry dominated world, love you |

| 20th September 2006 Dad | photo op? - From: one night in Bangkok... Only one of the countries you have visited so far has had a coup in the first few hours after you arrived. It hardly seems like anyone could say that is your fault. The BBC is reporting that tourists are using the events as a great unexpected photo op. We hope it stays that peaceful. You still have many elephants to ride. Lots of love, be safe. |
| 20th September 2006 Wilfred | How are you? - From: one night in Bangkok... I have just been informed that there has been a military coup in Thailand. Kristen is worried and wants to know how you are. She is going to try to figure out how to get on here tonight but wanted me to send you a message in the meantime. If you need info on what is happening or assistance this site has info for canadians travelling abroad http://www.voyage.gc.ca/dest/report-en.asp?country=290000. It advises that tourists aviod the Sanam Luang area of Bangkok as that is where the government offices are located. Anyways let us know how you are doing and if there is anthing we can do. |
