Welcome home Hope the post-travel blues haven't been too bad, especially with our beautiful spring weather at the moment. Loved the blog! Thanks for sharing :)
Other flamenco dancer This is Asunción Pérez "La Choni"- she was absolutely fantastic- lighter and more feminine on her feet. But for sheer force -Rocio had my heart!
So glad you liked Ronda and Hotel Enfrente Arte! We only had two days and two nights there, and really want to allocate 4 or 5 days to Ronda on our next trip to Spain. Looking forward to your thoughts on Seville :)
cave homes we didn't wander as far as the cave houses. must add that to the list for our next visit, and also remember to take snacks for any angry cave pups! :)
looking forward to the post from who-billees...
Louise looks fabulous Louise, obviously this holiday is something that was long overdue. You look fabulous, so relaxed.
You must really be enjoying yourselves. It's been great seeing all the fabulous photos.
Love Jody.
digital eyes that one always amuses us too! but thankfully most of the point and shoot ones move through quickly. sadly the same cannot be said for the 'need to video everything men' - they drive me insane!
"Pouty Facebook photos in front of everything" girls Dave wants to add to the list the girls that pose with cheesy smiles and busts ahoy in front of every goddamn thing...he has named them as I type "I'm hotter than this monument" girls...and with every one of them comes a compliant boyfriend who takes the photo....name currently under consideration ;-)
Beautiful poetry and envious of the warmth Hello there Lou and Dave
Sounds absolutely fantastic - I can taste your words and really envy you the warmth
Very cold here - we went to watch Winston play for the All Whites against the Solomon Islands in Auckland - it was wet and bitterly cold. Greater love hath no family for their nephew. Rreminded me of dragging you two out ot that game in the MCG
I have just spent two days in Wanganui - didn't get to the Bridge to Nowhere but I was close and thought of you again
Looking forward to catching up in Melbourne when you get back
Love Susan Kevin and Waimarama
dreams are free ...just arrived to 33 degree Granada evening...I am settling into my first Alhambra Lager that was in the fridge of the apartment! ooooohhh love this place already!
Cadaques must go there! i love the sound of those 'sandelled dancing feet' - but in my romantic visual, the feet are rhythmic and beautiful (and not socked)...
sandals sin socks tanned and vital and of all ages- not a sock or varicose vein in sight! Just travelled to Granada today. Google 'Calle Hospital de Perlegrolos no 4" - that's where we have a small apartment ! Right in the thick of things! Our host Christian just gave us the run through on the area- our tired minds are swimming with facts! Tomorrow is another day!
what can i say? Insanely jealous. Love the hat. And the umbrella. Know the depths of finding there is NOTHING to eat in a place filled with food, but inspired to find that Dave has still managed to eat - and even a pizza! Am now planning trip to Spain- just need to pay off mortgage first so will probably be 90. Now insanely jealous again because you've paid the mortgage AND you're in Spain AND you're not 90. Keep having a great time she says through fixed smile.....
Sin glutin picnic Just managed a picnic on beach with crackers, cheese, fat peaches and a bottle of rosada... A float in the sea too... (sorry don't mean to rub it in!) Hope all grand with you!
hola Louise! Loving your blog and travel pics (and the musical references of course) - I always enjoy Homage to Barcelona, and wonder if you've read Robert Elms' Spain - A Portrait after the General? Have a wonderful day, wherever your wheels take you x
by the time I get to Phoenix... So sorry its taken me ages to comment, have been enjoying your blog posts very much. Lovely to see Dali smiling down from Spanish laneways, your pieces look fabulous as ever x

arohanui (not espanaol) Susan and Kevin and Waimarama

2. with young kids
3. paying off the mortgage
4. slaves to the rhythm
....so now that
1. they are able
2. the kids are grown
3. that's handled
4. they can cut loose they take off on a 39 day trip of Spain combining their love of art (museum and street), food, architecture, music, bike riding and just hangin' out.
