Thanks for taking me back - From: Christkindlmarkt in Chicago
I never lived in Chicago, but I lived in Boston and loved it. The city in winter was beautiful and exciting. Your description of Chicago and the pictures took me back to my days in Boston. But, oh, I would love to see Chicago. I've only seen O'Hare. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Its not really that unusual to find an Egyptian mummy portrait that looks like Elvis... he is the god of Memphis...

Two Mummy Cases - From: British Museum II - Mummies!
These shots were all fascinating but my favorite was the woman mummy case...I love how the detail they captured where you see her little bit of a tummy and the wrinkles in the fabric. Oh no, I must be punch drunk...mummy tummy. Sorry.

What fun! It is good to see you and Jay had such a fantastic visit in Amsterdam. Both Mark and I really enjoyed Amsterdam. It was one the only places we visited that he said he could imagine living for a few years. I feel certain all the water and boats had something to do with his reaction. What struck me most was the happiness in everyone's face, from the very young to the very mature. Now, tell more, possibly there were a few off-line visits, like the red-light district and the coffee shops. I hear they have really good coffee.

Brings Back Great Memories - From: Amsterdam- playground of the Stars
Leisa, While all your blogs have been great, this is my favorite. I am currently visiting my sister Linda in the East Bay and was able to share this one with her. We first saw Amsterdam in 1957 -- this brings back great memories. Loving your blogs -- but can't wait until you return to Prairie Crossing! Sharyn

Once again, you made my day. My brother spent some time in Holland on business...he is a sign maker who is frequently commissioned to do the signage for some of the big cruise lines; sometimes there are perks like having to spend time in Holland ;-) He made his living as a musician for many years and still plays his guitar regularly. He has written some very moving and beautiful songs. He wrote one about the streets of Holland. I wish he had a recording of it, I would send it to you. Okay...back to work. Hugs!!!! Deb

What a gift you have... I have tried many times to capture the beauty of nature in the sky. I would wait with great anticipation for the pictures to return, only to feel the disappointment of 'no, that's not what I saw.'... Great Job Leisa.. That is part of what I remembered about living the great state of Texas. Love ya.

Great Text re Country Eats - From: Tally Ho! at the Romsey Show
Dear Leisa and Jay, Lovely outing, lovely pictures, lovely food. I assume that one must be very clear with one's self if one (or two) wish to avoid expansion! That might be true for life in the country ... ? Especially: lovely text. All the best and Kindest, Carl

Very interesting - From: Basingstoke is not "Boringstoke"
Maybe this is where the word 'eclectic' was derived. One thing for sure is you don't have to go far to see a different style. And, I loved the quote from Shakespeare. Absolutely correct..

This was my favorite yet! - From: Castles in Wales
How incredible to walk where you can imagine the lives these people led. I think it would be almost overwhelming to take everything in. The castles were phenomenal. I am glad you wanted to see these kinds of castles and not just the castles of the rich. Those would be fascinating too but the emotions their history conjures up seems almost sanitary compared to Caerphilly and Caldicot castles...I can imagine them appealing to my more basic, raw senses and really getting my imagination going. Wow! Thanks again.

Ahhhhhhhhh what a way to start my work day! And I now also have great photos downloaded that I can use as backgrounds. I tend to take several mini-mind vacations when I have a beautiful picture to look at. It's a great way to reduce stress. The map attached is awsome! I loved seeing the route taken in ralation to the area. And it's always nice to have a geography refresher. Luv ya :)
