So Wednesday 10th December 2008 Amy arrived in Australia!!!! We met at Perth Airport, the weather was officially the worst days weather I’d seen all year rainy and cloudy and a bit miserable which was bad luck for Amy on her first day but anyway we made our way back to the hostel we were staying at Underground which is a nice newish big hostel in Northbridge. I’d already spent 10 days in Perth not really doing much, wisdom teeth had been bad and not got much money plus had my purse stolen so had just been chilling out really. So that night I just showed Amy round the hostel, caught up a bit and had dinner then got an early night. The next 3 days we had in Perth, the first day Thursday we went ... read more

Day 1- Thursday 20th November my tour of the west coast of oz began!! We got picked up from our hostel at 6.30am by Tony our Western Xposure Tour Guide. The group for the tour consisted of 2 English girls myself and a girl called Louise, 1 Japanese girl called Ruri, 2 French Adrian & Sandra, 3 Swiss Barbara, Connie & Carl, 1 Canadian Gary and 9 Germans Jess, Mona, Lidia, Alex, Anya, Hannah, DanI, Yens & Daniel, 18 in total. Quite a mix of ages ranging from 18-68!!!!!! So the first day was really just a big driving day as it is a long way on the coast from Broome to get to the next nearest fun place. We drove about 700km altogether just in the first day, we stopped at eighty mile beach, which ... read more

Wednesday 1st October i flew from Cairns to Darwin was cool but bit weird to be leaving Cairns after 8 months in that area and in Queensland. I flew with Jetstar to Darwin at 1pm, was good to be flying and finally travelling again, sat next to a french guy on the plane who had similar travel/work plans to me so we got chatting. Toni picked me up afrom the airport and took me and him to Chillis hostel. I stayed at Chillis for 2 nights and looked about Darwin. Darwin was extremely hot like 35 and boiling in the midday sun, the centre of the town is not very big and mainly consists of one main street....Mitchell St. it reminds me of a party town in spain with all bars and restaurants down it, also ... read more

Well hostessing on SOF actually turned out to be quite a lot harder than i imagined the hours were very long in the week on the boat and the pay was by day so making your hourly pay next to nothing and your over all pay not that much more. Main thing is i learnt a lot and had a good expericne as well though. I was so happy and pleased when i got the job but didn't know exactly what it would entail and at the time was happy to have been offered any job really and seeing as it was my first and only offer and it was something i thought i really wanted to do i was happy to have got it. Started work on SOF Monday 24th March for one week of ... read more

I met Anna and Kylie on Manta Ray in Fiji and kept in contact with them, when i got back to Cairns i went for drinks at Anna's house in Cairns which is gorgeous and i said to her if any rooms come up in the house then to let me know and.............a few weeks later she txt me to say that the small room in the house was going to be avavilable in a few weeks, this was when i was still on the pawpaw farm, i decided to say yes to the room because i wanted to live in the house as it is soooo nice and i knew i wouldn't want to stay at the farm for the full 3 months so by about 6 weeks i could move into the house. So ... read more
