This was a quick dash through all three countries. We visited family that I hadn´t seen in a long time and met others that I´d never met. Very exciting. We traveled from Glasgow through the highlands in Scotland and as far north as Ulleypoole. We also went to Edinburgh castle. Scotland is so different from what I remember and I definitely have a different outlook on it. Beautiful country. Thanks to Cathy, Cully, Alice, Frank, Laura,Keith, Nicky, Jack and Andrew for all your hospitality. We had a great time. In England we went to the English Riviera - Torquay and saw a few neighboring communities. We especially liked Cockington - a very quaint old village. Bill especially liked the scones with jam and clotted cream. His mouth stills waters when he thinks about them. Thanks to ... read more

Hi there, we are furiously trying to catch up on these blogs but there really is not enough hours in the day. Greece was absolutely fabulous - we both fell in love with it - the people, the beauty, the food. Really I think I was Greek in a past lifetime. It felt like home. The people are boisterous, loud, and talk fast and with their hands. It was great. The greek salad was to die for. We only spent a few weeks there and wanted to return but the euro was killing us and we had to make some very important financial decisions. We kept to the Dondanese Islands - Rhodes, Kos and Leros. Rhodes is fabulous. The town is a walled city with old cobblestone streets and houses with tiny tiny doors. So cute. We ... read more

Hello, time for another update aka a boring night about the world today. We spent an incredible month or so in Turkey. This is a must stop for everyone who is thinking about touring in the area. We also had the pleasure to hang out with our friends Rena and Anne from Kamloops. Turkey is amazing, you have all the ruins and weather of Greece, the variety of cultures and customs of Europe and Asia and the friendliness of Scotland, no kilts though. Highlights (in the order we travelled, not by any other criteria) Ephesus - very cool Roman ruin site very close to the western coast and in a nice little town called Selchuk watch out for the carpet salesmen. This is a beautiful location and a magnificent old Greek ruins site. Pamukule - slightly ... read more

Hello all, we have just arrived back in Bangkok after about 4 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia. Today is May 16 and we are in an internet kiosk booking plans for Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I will cover our trip to Vietnam on this blog entry. Vietnam, what can you say about Vietnam. We flew from Bangkok to Hanoi on April 16, I had done an online visa application before hand. We arrived at the Hanoi airport with all the appropriate documentation in hand. There was a French tour group ahead of us and this seemed to cause massive confusion for the immigration people handling the visa applications. I figured this was the reason why they were very stern and unfriendly, well seems most of the people we met in Northern Vietnam were also unfriendly. ... read more

Hi Everyone, Hope this finds everyone doing well and the weather getting warmer. Well we had some exciting times in Krabi. Got got in a massive monsoon type rainstorm. We've never seen it rain so hard. We were sitting on the deck of a restaurant and had front row seats to watch the lightning show. All was well until Marcia and I had to go to the toilet. I had flip flops on and just about fell on my ass going down the stairs - marble is very slippery when wet. The guy from the restaurant gave us an umbrella because we had to go downstairs and outside. So there we are with an umbrella in a lightning storm, on some very slippery stairs and a huge bolt of lightning goes across the sky. We had ... read more

Yes we are still on this planet - having a bit too much fun here and no time for the blog. Well since we last blogged we have been island hopping - seen alot of the south of Thailand. Ko Samui was once the place to go but is now very overpopulated and still growing except for the sewer system - we were not impressed - quite disgusting. But we did meet some very nice people Deb and Lisa from London. We are hoping to meet up with them when we get there. We toured around the island which only takes about an hour and came across a mummified monk and the groping gardener. Really weird. We lit incense for the monk but really nothing can help him now. There was an old guy there who ... read more
