I really enjoyed your V-E Day post, and found all the historical info really interesting. I loved the Netherlands, and learned so much while I was there. My blog is looking for travel reviews, photos, etc, to share. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email us at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels!

Keep Blogging Hi Jessica, not too sure how i stumbled upon your blog, but have read each one, and have really looked forward to each new one you've posted. My favourite ones were when you moved to Maastrict first, as you describe your settling in physically and emotionally so well.
What i also love about your blogs is that you don't try to baffle people with crazy imagery, and descriptions, or with all these amazing things you did, and exaggerate what happened. You just describe them as they were and they are so much better for it. Of course the photos you've put in have been great too.
As a European, the most any of us would've heard about Maastrict, was in relation to the Maastrict Treaty, but through your eyes i can actually see it is a beautiful place and worth stopping in to experience what it has to offer. That is the beauty of travel and blogging.
Thanks, and please keep blogging....even, and especially after you get home.
Really cool Hello, KurtzJL. I am an English teacher from Brazil and today, while searching for some travel material for one of my students, I fould your post and loved it. I've been to Europe, but not to Amsterdam, and reading your post made me feel as if I were there. So nice!!! Hope to visit it soon.
Regards,
Lia Nascimento.
Canal tours Haha! I feel like you went on the same canal tour...we learned all the same information. Luckily, we got to see a dining room table being hoisted up the front of a house! haha. I loved Amsterdam like no other!! Dutch pancakes all the way!!
Wish I had seen more of Amsterdam Good post! I went to Amsterdam only once and it was a very brief trip, in and out in one day. Really wish I had seen more of the city, especially more of the canals. Really like how you gave the refresher of Anne Frank. I lived in Germany for almost 11 years but never made it back to Amsterdam.

Small world! I love all the small world coincidences that keep happening to you! haha! Both sound like rpetty cool classes, but I can imagine how different the systems must be, you'll get it! Also, love the Contracts reference. FML
Stroller for Gracie*Cedric You will be made fun of if you get a stroller for your cats. I would love to see Ced in a stroller. He'd see Jill and run away.
Vlad & Bike The whole time I was reading about the techno music...all I could think of was Vlad. When you don't know how to dance to said music...just channel the Vladislav. Haha.
Also, I love your bike. Please get a picture mounted on it, dressed in new Dutch clothes...you truly will look like a local Ms. blonde hair and blue eyes! haha
Being Old is a Matter of Perspective Hey Jess -
I'm very happy to see you rocking the travel blog. Thanks for the posts! Although I have to say that I found the idea of your being in the older demographic very funny...
Flying Solo Don't feel weird about eating by yourself...it's popular there! What is not popular is going to a movie by yourself in Carlisle, PA, like I did when I first moved. Talk about LAWkward! haha! And yay for people moving!
You know it! The 2-speed toilet is by far my favorite European amenity. It always has been, it always will be. Think we can get one of these in my apartment in Carlisle? hahaha
Your blog def peaked my interest... how long are you in the Netherlands for?.. and I have heard about their "open mindness" and my curiosity will one day bring me there to experience it first hand. Nice apt btw is it customary to have the washer/dryer in the bathroom??
Yay! Yay! I'm so excited you decided to start a blog...it will make my stalking so much more efficient! Haha! Euro grocery shopping is quite the experience...I also forgot about the bring your own bag rules! I'm so jealous, but am glad you're settling in. Enjoy your free time now and catch up on all your rest. People will get there soon and you're life will revolve around school and Socrates/Erasmus parties!
I'm studying abroad in Maastricht, the Netherlands from January until June 2010, & I want to be able to share my experiences with my friends & family! I hope you enjoy the stories of my life & travel abroad. Please feel free to comment!
