Finally she gets round to writing! It's been a long time coming and as I now have two weeks to kill sans lift pass so can't even attempt to ski! Rubbish I know but first perhaps I should go back a little. After a big build up to the season of me checking the snow reports in Mayrhofen at work (sorry Rach!) I arrived in Austria, well technically Germany as I actually landed in München on the 6th Dec. Cue a few hours later and on arrival in the Sidan - my hotel from last year - I got as far as the bar and proceeded to take 4 hours before I got past it. OK so I've been extremely lazy for oh, around 3 months now and am finally, finally getting round to writing again. About time I say. As you can guess I'm writing this from home, enjoying the start of my 3 days off after half-term and fireworks at Legoland. Yes, I did go back despite what I said but hey, it's a good gap filler and I need to earn some money before winter. Lots of things to buy for the season. Austria is on track and I should be heading out there in just over a month now. Hopefully my digital camera (that I broke way back in July) should be fixed soon so I will have more lovely photos to flaunt. Well a busy and distinctly expensive month but has been a lot of fun. Will post more shortly but am gonna attempt to get some photos up that tell the tale! Ok... so due to breaking my camera (ok ok i dropped it down the loo!) I can't load pix on atm as my memory card does not appear to want to work right now. Shame but if you're on facebook, the photos are on there tagged by others. Moral of the story, do not let me near anything expensive. Tally of losses and breakages now is my wallet, my phone which i dropped on the floor and now my camera. Can't actually remember the last time i wrote... oh wait just checked. So you don't know about the Love Boat. Well me, Portia, Patrick and Plum decided we would go on this night boat called the Love Boat. Does as it says on the tin. Mostly just had a good laugh at the others on the boat and ogled the spare fit guys who were lacking. All in all though an amusing night and the photos show the drunkenness of the others. Since then we had two birthdays last week; Dawn and Patrick. So we organised a BBQ. I say we, I mean Kuoni did. Didn't quite go as planned but nm. Had a pretty good night afterwards. I think my slide into alcoholism is complete! The other night we played ring of fire and i'm sure everyone here is convinced i'm a complete wino. Just coz they haven't seen me drunk yet... the secret is to get them drunk first! It was a funny night on saturday though. A few bottles of vodka and rose later and the game was on it's way. It didn't help that the night before was a leaving party and i'd consumed at least a bottle of prosecco plus wine etc. Oh the headache. Not as young as I used to be. Besides drinking, i'm trying to get out and do some walks in the area. It really is very pretty and so much to do and see. I'm off to the french part tomorrow to montreaux so ... read more

Feeling v lucky today. I'm being paid to look at a gorgeous view every day. Yes I may be doing the work of 2 people but right now I can't think of a better place to be doing so. So generally in a happy mood. Maybe knowing I don't have to commute every day is contributing to that so I've had the most sleep i've had in 2 weeks. All good. On sunday we took advantage of some rare free time to go walking and did about an hour and a half. My legs hurt a fair bit yesterday but no pain no gain as they say. Right, this time i really should stop drinking... tuesday i went to a goodbye party for someone leaving Wengen to go travelling and a bottle and a half of wine later I had to catch the last train down to INterlaken. One of the other reps was over for the night so of course we had to go out. Cue a bottle of gin, vodka and some beer and a pack of cards and feeling merry we headed to the usual bar. Felt ok as did Portia then all of a sudden she was hammered and had to be helped out of the bar. Ok so not great but next day, we discovered she's lost her key. Well I am finally in resort. Of a fashion. Actually having to commute till my accomodation up here is finished (in refurb so i guess that is good). Only prob is it now means I have to leave my current accomodation at 7am to get up here in time for welcome meetings and visits that I have to do. Boooo :-( Ah well it's character building i suppose. As for the work itself, it's starting off hectic as I'm doing the work of two people while I wait for my new partner in crime to arrive. he's currently setting up another resort. I guess it'll mean when it gets really busy it's all gonna be easy, right? For now I'm covering about 6 hotels and we have 9 up here in high season. Then I'll ... read more

Finally, am back to this blogging lark. Am currently at a cafe on my mates pc stealing wifi. Ah the things us reps are reduced to hey? Better than paying 5 Euro an hour though! So where am I exactly? Right now I'm in the Bernese Oberland about an hour away from Bern (the swiss capital for you geographobes) in Interlaken. This isn't my final resort but mine isn't open as of yet and I don't actually have accomodation up there as the intended accomodation flooded! Curious. So looking into finding an appartment for both us reps who will be there or hotel but till then, I'm commuting. Not done a lot of work as of yet. So it's done and I've been home almost a week and leave again on monday. Off to the land of holey cheese, yodelling and Heidi- Switzerland! But lets recap. I think last time I wrote I was about to kick off the last two weeks of the season. The first went relatively smoothly- just the one group who were lovely. As per usual I stuck with the beginners and attempted to play at being an instructor (yeah I'm pretty useless!)when one of the kids was a little on the scared side. Nightmare. I think they need to give training courses in the best way to deal with hysterical children on the pistes!
