Loved reading your blog on Plzen. We are in Plzen now - staying at the Angelo hotel, opposite the brewery and will go on a tour tomorrow. Amazed at the number in your tour - 70? Greg had a few .5's to my one at Restaurant U Mansfelda in the old town - it was refreshing and tasty! Like your style - your blog was easy to read and fun. Cheers!
Nice place that one Definitely a good place Lubljana. Sounds a little like our time there but we had to wend our way back up to Kamnicka Bistrica at the end of the day and that was a highlight of the trip in itself.
We hope to be in Croatia in September 2013... so your blogs about your trip at that time are great for us. As for you having to write so many blogs while sitting on the beach, you must have decided to wait six months to publish them
Hello Adam and Claire Excellent to see you on the front page! Great photos. Even though we don't agree with you that champagne and Pink Floyd are overrated we understand the point you were making. Glad you are enjoying the trip.
A bit behind in your blogs? When I saw the date of your latest blog after having read them from the beginning, I thought "Not another travelblogger who just disappears off the face of the earth in the middle of a trip never to be heard from again." Then I saw that this was just published 10 days ago, so there is hope. I am looking forward to your future blogs as I will be traveling through Central Europe in 2013. In the meantime, you are being recommended as Blogger of the Week. I hope you get it.
real life :( Yes, I know, I think the same thing. Unfortunately I've let home life get in the way of real life (travel) for a bit. I'm trying to tidy up some of the rest of the posts and at least finish off this trip. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
Things do get a little Tense The Bosnians really did cop a terrible hiding and we found them to be the most friendly of the people in that part of the world - with the possible exception of the Montenegrans.
Comments It will be interesting to see the comments you get on this one. The Serbian authorities took a dim view of our contribution to the world's knowledge.
Van Thanks for the info on the van. I will keep it in mind for next year when I will be re-exploring Europe. I explored it back in the 70's in my volkswagon van and it was great. Time to do it again.
van I have traveled extensively in the US using a van and now a truck with a camper. It is so much more convienent than setting up a tent especially in bad weather. Next year I may rent a van in Europe for the same reason. Is the van that you guys are using too small in back to put a makeshift bed in. Or do you just prefer using a tent ?
the berlingo there would be plenty of room to set up a bed in the back of a van like the berlingo, but mostly we weren't in a hurry and it was easier to set up a tent to have a place to sit around in, cook dinner, that sort of thing.
Buggered ?? I was wondering if you could interpet this for me. I have figured out most of the austrailian slang from the context it is being used in the sentences......but can't quite understand the meaning of "buggered" in the context of this sentence;
"The riders, when they eventually arrived, were already buggered, but they went past quickly"
lost in translation I guess that one can sound strange. Buggered has a strange meaning, but in the australian vernacular it simply means physically exhausted.
Road to Brno Obviously hasn't been improved since our trip there. Maybe they do what some places here seem to - wait until the road completely breaks up and then build it again from scratch. This of course means long long waits at the construction areas.
Pinxtos As good as it gets those pinxtos. I even forgave Frank Alcorta - the only Basque I can actually remember talking to. If those are forever denied to you it would be a reason to become a bit jaundiced.
Welcome to Coles’ New World - the amazingly imaginative titled account of the Coles’ trip to...the New World. And the Old World. And a bit of Asia.
If, like us, you’ve read any other travel blogs, you’ll know that we’re supposed to “quit our jobs!!!” and “all our friends told us we were crazy!!” and “my mom was crying and saying we’d have our faces sewn onto a soccerball in Mexico..”
Well, not for Aussies. Not uncommon, actually (although we’re not doing the year in the UK thing). Klaire’s a lawyer, so will get a new job no dramas (probably her old one back), I... full info
