Germany - part 1 Europe » Germany
After leaving the Czech republic we headed to Dresden (in the south of germany). Checked out the usual (bridges, churches, squares and castles) From there we headed to Berlin and saw the east and the west sides (we could't tell much of a difference but the locals still can). Stayed with a couch surfing guy called Tobi on the east side who gave us a wonderful history lesson. Now all you can really see of where the wall was was cobble stones layed along the roads. Germany is an enormous country to drive through but the autobahns definity live up to [View Full Entry]

Favrite place in the world! Austria on one side and switzerland on the other...most amazing countryside!! valleys of green, dark moutains and little villages..
We dont have any photos as they were deleted but we will try and give you a quick run down of what happened while we were in austria... Arrived in Viena on the 28th in the afternoon. We had a wee drive around vienna and just happened to find a Cinema IN ENGLISH! we were so excited we went and saw a movie. After that we went and found our "couch surfing" family and had a nice evening with them (have found a website where you email people and can stay at their place for FREE!!). Hungary Europe » Hungary » Central Hungary » Budapest
Arrived in Hungray after a magnificent day traveling through croatia and slovenia. Drove past the lakes [which were full of tourists) we stopped our first night a few kms from budapest. Found a campground the next day where we left our car and caught the public transport into Budapest. We brought transport passes for €5 and didnt even use them once! Budapest is made up of two cities buda and pest located on either side of the river. We spent the day walking and catching trams around the city to see the sights. This is one amazing city, with so much [View Full Entry]

After leaving Venice we begun our drive towards Hungary. Went through Slovenia (which was absolutely beautiful) They say it looks like the Swiss Alps which if it does we are really looking forward to seeing them. After that we headed to the capital of Croatia (Zegreb) and then through some small towns on the way backup to Hungary. It was an amazing experience to see a country that has been through so much civil war, which is so unlike home. Both Slovenia and Croatia have alot of farming communities their main crops being sunflowers and maize. [View Full Entry]

Countryside in Slovenia
Village in Slovenia

Started our italian adventure in pisa, where we saw the leaning tower and from there headed to florence. In florence we immersed ourselves in the italian culture by trying some great food before we hit the streets to see the sights. Drove to siena via the tuscany countryside (as the motorway was closed we had to go the back way...best thing that could have happened to us!). Sienna is a small town built on three hills. We drove through the old fortress, with narrow cobble stone streets and like everyone else got a wee bit disorientated. Big mission to get to [View Full Entry]

Picked up the car the next day and traveled the coast of france (french riviera) stopping in cannes, a bit of nice and monaco [View Full Entry]

Been in Vigo a nearly a month now and are having a great time! This is the city where Debbie lived for four years with her family back in 1993. It is great for her to catch up with all her friends again! Anna-Marie is mastering the art of speacking spainsh. She can pretty much have a wee conversation which would involve a spanish person, Ams, her trusty phrase book and a dictionary! Debbie is doing a few english classes while we are here to earn a bit of extra cash. Here are the photos of everything we have been doing.... [View Full Entry]
