Shuttle ride to the airport. Checked in and through security an hour in advance. 1 extra hour waiting for airplane computer issues to get sorted out. 40 minute late landing in Amsterdam. Shuttle to terminal from tarmac. 25 minute walk to correct departure gate. Serious security to board KLMNWA flight. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Czech-Republic/Prague/blog-277332.html WOW What a city Gotta run before the 24 hour pass runs out funny trivia 24 hours 100Kc but 72 hours 330Kc... what a deal.... http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Czech-Republic/Prague/blog-276454.html First night here.... Got in at 19h00. Went for supper awesome in a gorgeous hotel 4.5 star that is very expensive over 200 euro per night. Tomorrow is a trip downtown and then a dinner cruise on the river. More later. Very tired. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Czech-Republic/Prague/blog-275911.html Now in Germany After a whirlwind tour through Innsbruck Austria Schloss Neuschwanstein and Oberammergau we've ended up in Munich. I really liked Innsbruck smaller and very near the mountains and Neuschwanstein what's not to like about a castle surrounded by forest and hiking trails. Oberammergau would have been better to see in 2010 Passion Play. The jury me is still out with regard to Munich. I mi http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Germany/Bavaria/Munich/blog-274756.html Greetings from Salzburg Awesome city It's small... maybe a bit bigger than Regina. Love the pedestrianfriendliness of it too. Here's some photos from the last couple days. Picture worth 1000 words and all plus it really slows me down typing on this silly German keyboard. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Austria/Salzburg-State/Salzburg/blog-273847.html No time to post EEKStupid internet.Went to Schoenbrunn castle. And other stuff.More later once I find cheaper internet.Yes has schnitzel. VG. And lots http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Austria/Vienna-State/Vienna/blog-273136.html characters on my keyboard Okay... slightly less rushed post here. Please excuse the Z and Y transpositions but they are reversed on the keyboard so I sometimes mess up. Have just completed a whirlwind tour of Amsterdam during layover during which mom who was walking in good shoes but was wearing nylons in them got huge blisters on her feet. She's a little slow right now....Did a walkabout in Vienna yesterday. K http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Austria/Vienna-State/Vienna/blog-272702.html Vienna Day 1.5 GreetingsCan't think and type fast enough to make use of this internet connection... so more later when I am at a less frentic pace. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Austria/Vienna-State/Vienna/blog-272541.html Day 0 5 hours to go. Am sufficiently pretired. Pretired is sort of like predrinking except that it doesn't involve booze. No wait... pretired is nothing like predrinking. So my plan has been to get up 2 or 3 hours earlier than usual which makes the time difference only 6 rather than 8. Next on the 8 hour flight to Amsterdam is to stay awake for the first hour but then to sleep http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/Saskatchewan/Regina/blog-271838.html The last 48 hours Okay... so all that remains is to pack. I think. Routes are planned bookings are made passports are valid... all that good stuff. I'm going to try to figure out if it's possible to show our first excursion in Vienna on a map. Until we get to Europe there will likely be more posting at the Broads Abroad site. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/Saskatchewan/Regina/blog-271069.html The Countdown starts now TEN days to go.Crap.I have a lot to do in the meantime. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/Saskatchewan/Regina/blog-268392.html Predeparture notes for Europe 08 I've set up a communal blog site Broads Abroad for most of our Europe trip but thought I'd keep this one for this and future trips. I already have far too many blogs but that's primarily because I haven't found one that's perfect for me yet. Perhaps the only solution to this problem is for me to learn HTML. I'm not ready for that however.I added some people as subscribers because they ar http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/Saskatchewan/Regina/blog-264432.html
