Got back to cusco the early hours of this morning after the rancid trek. i spent a lot of the 4 days on a hrse who i named sebastian. we reached the hightest point on the salkantay trek on the second day but my toe is really hideous so it was hard for me to walk. We finished the trek with a 4 hour walk on my birthday which was really boring as it was just along a railway track. In the morning everyone decorated where we had breakfast with ballns and ribbons and the cooks made me a cake and i opened my cards and presents from my mm, thomas, martin and jean and the group. When we finished the trek we had a really nice hotel with a hot shower. later on when we ... read more

So I´ve been in peru for a few days now after a nice stop off in New York as we missed the plane, though we made the most of it and saw all the sights and did a bit of shopping. The hostels we´re staying in are surprisingly very nice and the food is good, though one day we only ate rice and chips it was hideous. We´re doing quite a lot of travelling around but the coaches here are amazingly nice with massive armchair seats and tvs and food. Also the aeroplanes here were really good although the second had no vegetarian meals for harriet which was unfortunate. Since we´ve been here we´ve been to the beach and we´ve been to the balestas islands where they had a lot of peruvian birds and penguins and ... read more
