Hi everyone, Just a quick note to apologise for lack of blog updates (again!) I will try and spend some time on them over the next few weeks. I expect all of you know now that Ed and I split up just over a week ago so I am now back in the UK and Ed is carrying on with the trip. Currently staying with Mum and Dad in Sidmouth but looking for a new house-share in Guildford so will be back in sunny Surrey in the next few weeks. If anyone wants to get in touch my new skype profile [View Full Entry]

Hola! We apologise that this blog has been a bit slow in appearing, unfortunately we have no excuses, we just haven't got around to writing it until now! We're currently in Costa Rica after finally leaving Panama a month ago but we'll do our Costa Rica blog when we get to Nicaragua! (Should be sometime in the next week.) Since Christmas (which seems a long time ago now!) we managed to get around to doing some of the touristy things around Boquete one of which was the Cafe Ruiz coffee tour. It costs $14 for 3 hours and includes visits to [View Full Entry]

¡Próspero Año Nuevo! (Happy New Year to those of you who don't speak Spanish!) Hope your heads aren't too sore from last night's celebrations and that everyone's had a good start to the New Year?! I know we promised that our next blog would be about Jenny and Paul's house and all their animals and birds but we decided to let you know about our trip to Bocas Del Toro and what we've been up to over Christmas first. On the 2nd week of December we set our alarms for early Tuesday morning and got a lift with Paul and Neimis [View Full Entry]

Buenas! As you can see from the photos I have finally managed to persuade Ed to partake in a karaoke evening! I can't believe I even managed to get photo evidence of it! He sang 'Cat's in the Cradle' with Canadian drinking buddies Doug & Joe here in Boquete at Amigos. (I also sang a few songs but managed to escape the camera!) Later that week, again at Amigos, we were waiting for a special guest to make an appearance. We'd heard that there was an armadillo living under the tree in the garden of Amigos! He finally snuffled his way [View Full Entry]

Sorry for the delay since our last entry, I did start this blog about a week ago but just as I was coming to my last few sentences, the power decided to go and I lost everything! When I came to write it all again the next day we then had computer problems with routers and wireless connections etc. which ended up turning into a 3 day problem, which Ed, Paul and two of Paul's friends have been trying to fix! So, I've managed to grab the computer while no-one's working on it and the internet connection seems to be ok [View Full Entry]

Hola! Hope everyone's well? Unfortunately I've not been too good since we last wrote, my pericarditis seems to have flared up again, luckily nowhere near as bad as before but I've been to see the doctor (who is rather comical - he's been on a course on how to make his patient's laugh - and he speaks reasonable English although Ed has no idea what he's saying!) It only costs about £12 each time I go and see him and he's very thorough, spending over an hour with me each time doing various tests and he's on call 24 hours a [View Full Entry]

After all the dramas before we came away we still managed to leave as planned on Saturday 14th Oct. We flew from London Heathrow to San Jose, Costa Rica via Miami, where we only made our connection thanks to American Airlines holding the flight for us! Unfortunately our bags didn't make the flight, so we had to spend our first night and sunday morning in the same stinky clothes we wore on the flight! After a lovely trip with Ed's Mum and Paul to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, in the mountains outside San Jose, we arrived back at the hotel to [View Full Entry]

It's Monday morning and we're frantically cleaning the carpets as Ed managed to decorate them with his blood (yuck!) on Saturday night...... Ed managed to put his hand through the glass in the living room door about half an hour before our leaving party at The Kings Head in Guildford. As a result he completely missed our leaving drinks and I only managed a quick appearance down the pub to say hi to everyone before heading back to A&E!! We've spent too much time in that place the last few months!!! Despite us not being there, everyone who spent the evening [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! These entries might be a bit hit and miss until I work out what I'm doing so you'll have to bear with me! Only 2 weeks and 2 days until we fly from the UK to Costa Rica then on to Panama! Ed's only got 2 more days of work left (yippeeee!) and I've had the last of my immunisations today. So much to do before we leave!!! [View Full Entry]
