I'm a young American professional male in my early 30's, whose greatest passion is nature and traveling the world, experiencing new places and cultures. Travel budget is typically on the low end, but I always throw in some higher class hotels in along the way. Most trips consist of a constant travel, with 1-3 nights in each town. Typically go on one 2-week trip every year, another week long adventure also, and as many extended weekends as possible. Trips tend to focus more on the outdoors than city life and museums, but I get a mix of everything depending on where my travels take me.

I'm not talking about my trip, but Tebow's miracle run. F the coaching staff, I know the guy sucks but call some freakin passing plays. Do I get fantasy points for Brady's 5 TDs and Gron's 3 TDs in the first half? ha. Okay, seriously, my trip is sadly coming to an end. No better way than a true rain forest downpoor. Awesome! Yesterday I took the short 1 hour bus back to Quepos, checked into my king suite at Costa Verde, and hiked down to Manuel Antonio NP. Boring at first, but then some spectacular beaches, fun tide pool hopping, great views, and face to face time with the monkeys, you'll see the pics later. One mile walk uphill to the market for dinner and drinks, and a well deserved solo dinner with a spectacular ... read more

Hello my friends. Well a damn car rental was $500 for just 5 days, so I bused it from coast to coast. $4 bus 1.5 hours to Porto Limon, $6 3.5 hour bus to San Jose (through some cool cloud rain forest for 45 minutes), buses sold out in San Jose for the Pacific so a $90 cab busting it to Jaco with some psychotic driving, just in time to catch the $2 1.5 hour bus to Quepos, and a final 1 hour bus to Dominical which I never paid for. Quite a long day of travel, 10 hours in all. Met a Brit at the bar next to my cabina, had some wings and a few beers and called it a night. Yesterday was just a relaxing beach day in the 80 degree ocean bath ... read more

Hello again my friends. I departed Bocas del Toro two days ago. Joined two girls from Buenos Aires after the 25 minute water taxi and split a 45 minute cab to the border, went through immigration, walked across the bridge border crossing, and caught a one hour bus to Puerto Viejo. Walked to Rocking Js hostel and booked a private cabina, no bigger than the size of the bed. ha. Rented a bike and had some great fish tacos at a Jamaican joint in town. Then headed south down an awesome jungle road, checking out some sweet secluded beaches. Came back in time to watch Denver beat Pitt from my hostel restaurant. Had some chicken peanut sauce stir fry that still isn't settling well, though it was good. I sat at the bar talking to a ... read more

Hello my friends. In my final night in Bocas del Toro. Fantastic place, highly recommended. Bus driver F'd me and didn't tell me my stop. So I went 30 minutes too far and had to get another bus back. Not a big deal. Had an early dinner at an over water bungalow, fantastic lobster sandwich. Met some Brazilians at the hotel and joined them for dinner. They are here for 3 weeks surfing twice a day. Called it a night after dinner. Friday was a fantastic day. Rented a beach cruiser and rode 7 kilometers to a sweet beach hut restaurant, half of which was riding on the beach and dirt road. Passed some amazing surf and saw a sloth hanging in a tree. Half way back I turned and rode another 5k up and down ... read more

Well, coming to the end of my brief stint in David. Everything worked out just as planned and I blew it. I met two Aussie fellas on a 4 month mission and 2 Norweigan gals doing a similar trip. Makes my two weeker look like child's play. Apparently they met a few weeks ago and have been traveling together ever since. The Aussies are starting up a band, and the lead singer had a very decent voice and he was quite the guitar player. We sat on the back porch as they jammed until 1am with the hostel manager. Pretty fun. They are off to Bocas next and I probably should have skipped Boquette and headed out to Bocas with them. Of course there is a good chance I'll run into them there as well. Marian's ... read more

Just checking out of my hotel in Panama City as we speak and catching a 7 hour bus up to David. NYE turned out to be pretty cool. I was minutes away from going solo to la zona rumba, which is a closed off area with multiple discotecas. Thankfully, things worked out for the better and I was able to get a hold of Jason´s friend Marian. Jason, thanks, she has been a fantastic tour guide during my brief stay. We ended up going to her parents´ house for a small wedding anniversay party. Apparently her dad was a former pilot, the captains that take over the cargo vessels through the locks. Then we went over to some other "zonian" friends of their´s and spent NYE at a small house party. One guy bought a decent ... read more

Hey all, after an initial scary moment at the airport I made it to my hotel without issue. It is absolutely gorgeous down here. Of course, LAX had to be a freakin madhouse at midnight for some reason, crawling inch by inch into departures, so I had to run into the airport from Sepulveda. Then the lady at check in woudn´t issue my ticket because I don´t have a print out of my return flight on a different airline. Thank god for the iPhone, I showed her my confirmation on my phone and got my boarding pass. Then got harrassed because I ¨smelled of booze¨. Ya, no kidding, I was just at a bar and had to run a 1/2 mile into the freakin airport. Yes, the booze is gonna come out a bit. No law ... read more
