| 28th February 2008 Amy Russell | Moose - From: La Paz - Hanging on the canyon´s edge You guys ate llama?! Crazy kids! Wanted to tell you that earlier this week a wolf attacked a moose in the driveway. Think we spooked it, and moose took shelter nearly on the deck. We didn't see the actual attack, but missed it by moments. Troopers came up and shot it at the other end of the driveway. It looks like a war zone out there. Love from the hood. :) amy |

| 16th February 2008 Dad | Jealous - From: The coast of Bolivia - well sort of.... Last year your blog made me want to travel...this year I am just jealous. How many festivals have you stumbled into? |
| 11th February 2008 Dad | More festivals! We need a festival - From: Up, Up and Bolivia Puno has a wild, exuberant side. It is officially the Folkloric Center of Peru. Throughout the year, monthly festivals with music and dance fill the streets and bring out the photographers. The most popular of these festivals is the feast of the Virgen de la Candelaria in February with the famous Devil Dancers. The costumes are vivid and spectacular and no expense is spared.... Wow, you hit it perfectly, sound wonderfulm have a beer for me if you haven't already moved on. |
| 9th February 2008 Dad | Pictures don't tell the story - From: Arriving (and leaving) Lima The pictures you posted of Lima sure make it look pretty but I know big cities are not your idea of fun so glad to read you have headed south. I did some reserach on Arequipa and it sounds beautiful with the mountains and canyon. Looks like the camera is working well. I am getting Mikie's room set up this weekend (the bed and desk are back!) |
| 6th February 2008 Kevyn and Dave | Arrived in Lima - From: Why Can't YOU think of a title? Thanks for the comments, guys. We arrived in Lima and all is well. Heading out of here tomorrow. Who likes a big, dirty city. We´ll keep posting. Love, K&D |
| 6th February 2008 Dad | Keep Posting - From: Why Can't YOU think of a title? Well, we have been thinking about you two all day and wondering where you are. I know it was a long flight and hopefully a healthier start than last year! We love you and will be watching for more posts. |
| 5th February 2008 ADogg | buena suerte - From: Why Can't YOU think of a title? Good luck amigos! I eagerly await the blog entries and will be checking from cubicle world each day. Have fun! Beware of the ghetto taxis down there, especially in Peru and Bolivia. I would recommend taking the more "official" looking ones with writing or numbers on the side. My trick was to hail ones with elderly drivers because I thought that I would be more likely to kick their ass if they tried to mess with me...and no one ever did ;-) Les vaya bien!!! Your devoted advisor |

| 25th February 2007 nick | one of the best signs I have ever seen - From: Siete Lagos and so much more! By the looks of that sign, downhill car surfing seems to be a common driving hazard. When your car is the size of a skateboard, maybe it's possible. |
| 25th February 2007 n i c k | sweet car! - From: Tenemos NERDS! Man, it looks beautiful outside Bariloche! |
| 25th February 2007 El Nicko | Is Dave running an ad campaign for Aeuarela? - From: Nacional Parque de Los Glaciares "Hi, my name's Dave Northup, President of Aeuarela ice cream co. When I'm not doing construction or traveling around the world, I'm eating my Aeuraela! I especially love eating our number one flavor, Mint chip. Mmmm mmm good. | 20th February 2007 Kevyn and Dave | You´re too late... - From: Unusual sights not often seen in the US How do you know that I already do not have the duck in my pack? Worse yet, he is quite handy at construction and may be my new right webbed guy... |
| 20th February 2007 Nickwholivesvicariouslythroughdaveandkevyn | I'm buying you a duck - From: Unusual sights not often seen in the US That's right. When you arrive back in Anchorage, you will be the proud, new owners of a pet duck. That guy in Mendoza gave me a really good idea. Not only do I think such a pet would round out your lives nicely, I would get a kick out of watching Dave train a duck. Safe travels, you clowns! |
| 20th February 2007 Kevyn and Dave | Hey ASH!! - From: Valentine´s in Viña del Mar We bused it up to Salta from Mendoza (primera classe Andesmar, as per your recommendation...thank you!). | 16th February 2007 Dad | I want to go... - From: Could you spare some change? Please.... Sounds like you guys are having a great time and eating and drinking your way through each country. I'd ask how the steak was but you don't have much to compare it to. | 11th February 2007 Elizabeth | Geez! - From: Unusual sights not often seen in the US Even your messes are tidy! love, your messy office mate ps do you only get half clean in a half bath? |
| 11th February 2007 Kevyn and Dave | Hey Pete.... - From: Torres del WINDY!! We have been very luck with weather so far. The Torres were beautiful and totally clear. Patagonia was beautiful (I feel that we´re so spoiled by Alaska, though...that it might not seem as GRAND as it is to some). It was far more busy (we have never had to plan ahead with travel plans, and we quickly discovered down there that you need to get your self sorted out!!) and more expensive...but hey, it´s our honeymoon, and who knows if we´ll be down here again. Thanks for reading and for the comments. We think of you (and Ashley) alot everywhere we go. Cheers, mate! K & D |
| 9th February 2007 pete | - From: Unusual sights not often seen in the US Sweeeeeet halftub!!! |
| 8th February 2007 Dad | Thanks for the Update - From: Unusual sights not often seen in the US Hope you find a place to stop and rest for a day or two! I'll try the travel desk again and keep trying. Have fun and a glass of wine for us. Dad, Julie and Mikie |
| 8th February 2007 Pete | I Don't Know... Why Do I need a Title for a Comment? - From: Torres del WINDY!! Hey K & D, Wow, you guys were lucky to find the Torres open! I think it is very rare to see them... much less at sunrise. Glad to hear you survived the wind. Is Patagonia what you expected? If you get bored... see if you can identify which popular outdoor company uses the image of your next destination on its logo. Alaska is windy too these days... but somehow very very different than where you are. Enjoy and be safe! -Pete |
| 6th February 2007 eric patzke | tex-mex greetings - From: On the Bus Wow. Super jealous. Everything looks amazing. Made me realize how I long for greenry and water. Still suffering winter here in Boulder. You would think that wouldn't be a big deal but we actually have a winter on our hands here. 15-20 degrees, snow two, three times a week. Okay, so today is 60, but we havent seen that since Oct. Keep posting. I'll keep reading and admiring. Love you both. e |
| 6th February 2007 Dad | Pretty Cool - From: Torres del WINDY!! Freezing cold, wine in a box and rocks to stumble on in the dark....really does sound like fun ;-) At least compared to paying bills and taking the Blazer to be fixed. You can feel good about driving it next time, door fixed, oil not dripping, new windshield and looks and smells like a new car. Keep up the postings and photos...Love, Dad |
| 5th February 2007 Kevyn and Dave | we´re trying on the photos!! - From: Our quick tour of a Small National Park some internet connections are just too slow...we´ll try to do better :) |
