breakfast at 8am today then off to anthro tutorial at 11am. met a new girl in my tutorial named Michelle. she's from Michigan and goes to Michigan Tech. she really likes traveling and we hit if off at the start. hopefully we'll get around some weekend adventures soon here! went to the rest of my lectures for the day and worked on classes when I got back to the dorm. nothing too new and exciting after that! watched boston legal with Steven and Stine and a bunch of other people! all is well! breakfast came too early today at 8am. its not like I had a chance to sleep in yesterday but I think I was exhausted and even though I went to bed at 10pm last night, that wasn't enough sleep! went to my anthro lecture at 9am, walked a different direction with Stine cause my classroom had changed to the building she starts at in the morning. went and sat at the biology building working on my anthro readings from the book. finished the next chapter so I have some free time tomorrow to work on my other classes. went to my [View Full Entry]

no time for breakfast this morning! I left the dorm this morning at 8am to get downtown to the bus stop for our field trip by 8:45 while stopping along the way to pick up the makings for lunch (energy drink, water, rations, mango chicken sandwich). rode the bus with several other sleepy students (about 50 or so) to Wenderholm Forest north of Orewa. slept through breakfast, but Stine and I went and got "breakfast" from the dairy down the way (consisting of Red Bull and Cheezels)...we then went to lunch at 1230 and had some beef like chile mixture and rice. I spent the rest of the day working on getting my classes in order by printing off notes and working on my readings. went to dinner with Stine (had chicken nuggets with rice and chile sauce). dessert consisted of "crunchie" milk and "moro" milk, both were very good. went to bed pretty earlier given that I have a field trip tomorrow. started the day with breakfast at 8am...again! went to my biometry lab at 10am with a nice stroll into campus/town. managed to get done with lab early and came back for lunch. worked on my ecology readings and anthropology as well during my lunch break. went back into campus for my remaining lectures from 2pm to 5pm. made a new friend in my ecology class. we actually have all the same classes except for one, so he (Sean) will probably make a good study buddy for later. walked back home and went to dinner (some spicy fish with potatoes) then proceeded [View Full Entry]

breakfast at 8am then went back to sleep after reading my Ecology book. Went to lunch at 12:30 with Emma, had huge sausage, rice and french fries (such a weird combination) then went on to lectures from 2pm to 5pm. walked to lecture which was quite a nice walk downtown. Made a new friend in my Biometry lecture, her name is Nina, she went to UTenn at Knoxville for two years and then her family moved to New Zealand. breakfast at 8am with Stine and Emma. changed things up a bit today and had granola instead of raisin bran. went to my anthropology lecture via the bus and made lovely timing, I really am getting this whole public transportation thing down. sat through my lecture which I am finding to be quite interesting. went over to the bookstore to buy some essentials for my Diversity of Invertebrate class: dissection kit, art book for sketches for the lab, ruler, special lead for my mechanical pencil and map tacks to mark my destinations on the map of New Zealand above my head. went to breakfast at 8am with Stine and then went back to bed for a few hours since I had no lectures until 2pm. went and had my eyebrows waxed in a little shop downtown. rode the bus there which became quite an adventure but I managed to make it. walked back to uni and went to my lectures. classes still seem to be going well. shouldn't have any issues with understanding course material. rode the bus back home in the evening since it was raining. ate dinner at 530pm with the masses and spent the rest of the night working [View Full Entry]

breakfast came early this morning! 7:45am so that Stine and I could both get to our classes before the rush of the crowds. First lecture went well...biological anthropology, should be an interesting class given that I haven't taken an anthropology course ever! Stood in line for 30 minutes to get a 40 trip bus pass on the link buses! amazing crowds at the quad! went back to grafton to get lunch and relax a bit before my back to back lectures starting at 2pm. the walk to campus is really nice, its pretty much all down hill so I really enjoy [View Full Entry]
