ok, we are blatantly well behind with blogging so here's a teaser for South Thailand (by Kerry). We'll fill in the blanks when we make time & have motivation... Back into Thailand Crossing the border without a passport - I was almost but not quite like a V.I.P. with my Laissez Passer. Bangkok revisited Taste of home: The British Embassy & painless passport application. Graham murdered Take a chance on me (ABBA) that night. Cringe!
(written by Kerry with some additions from Graham) So after leaving Bangkok we went to.. Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai & Pai Phitsanulok was more or less just a convenient location on the main train line to Chiang Mai where we could stay to take a day trip to Sukhothai. The air-conditioning on the train we took from Bangkok was a little bit too good - most people spent the journey wrapped up in jumpers, coats or sleeping bags. Phitsanulok was a pretty cute little town with a nice night market. We stayed in one of "the best Thai national Youth Hostels [View Full Entry]

What a pleasant experience. Lovely place, sorted me right out!
(written in a random internet cafe in Vientiane, whilst Kerry tries to hunt down/replace her passport which has, unfortunately, gone missing..... Also apostraphe/s are not working here now so using "/" instead. Very annoying!) It/s been a month since we left India and I have serious, serious cravings for yellow dhal fry and nan pretty much every day. I need it. Wow, Thailand is tourist friendly - I guess sometimes you want to feel like its a challenge getting from A to B and here its so much easier compared to Russia, China, Mongolia and India - will someone PLEEEEEAASE try [View Full Entry]

We got a photographer as G didn't want to bother playing with the little one..
Oh what fun! Please do laugh at the ridiculous poses of us with tigers... Ok, so we were a little bit worried after visiting Tiger Kingdom that it might be cruel but the website says this so we think it's all ok: "We love Tigers. They are not aggressive as you think. At Tiger Kingdom NONE of the tigers are drugged or tranquilised, and we do not believe in using chains, restraints or any other forms of animal abuse." We also read an article by a charity worker who went to check it out with his wife with no prior judgment [View Full Entry]

Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi (again)...... Agra Reading over the various blog entries that we've made since leaving the UK I can't help but notice that the word "awesome" appears entirely too many times. But the Taj Mahal is awesome. We also did a quick day trip to Fatehpur Sikri which is just outside Agra & home to a massive old palace built by/for (?) Emperor Akbar. Very cool crumbly old place. Very hot day. A worthwhile and inexpensive trip. Orchha Hmmmm...... "Temples surrounded by thick jungle and only recently discovered", "An [View Full Entry]

by Kerry Trauma! I have learned an expensive lesson by not taking out separate insurance for loss & accidental damage of my valuables. So far it has just been glasses related. First I lost my Armani sunnies. This was very traumatic. Think I left them on a wall at the beach :( I decided not to replace them as one of my 2 pair of glasses are those that double as sunnies by darkening in UV. So I'm waiting to find a cheap pair in a shop where I believe the UVA sticker is real. Then, I was smacked in the [View Full Entry]

needs more photos but it's long overdue so recklessly publishing without! (written.. well started.. by Graham at 10.30pm in the Cozy Bangkok Place Hostel, Bangkok, waiting for the washing to finish, 2 bottles of Singha down, midway through a bottle of Chang, considering whether or not to open another bottle. Kerry's in bed, tired after several days of illness, now resolved by a trip to Bangkok International Medical Centre, more on that later....... Added to by Kerry some days later) Woo Hoo! (written by Graham in an internet cafe, 12 hours before our flight to Thailand) We'll let the pictures do the talknig for this entry (partly because we didn't do much besides eat, drink, sunbathe and swim and partly because we're behind on blog entries so need to crank this one out quickly). In summary........ Palolem South Goa, lots of restaurants, nice, sparsley populated beach often shared with stray dogs and cows. Stayed 5 nights in total, sunset strolls aplenty. Food - great pizza and pasta at Magic Italy, great steak at Cool Breeze, awesome curried king prawns on the [View Full Entry]
