Paradise in Italy - From: Orte, Italy
What a beautiful room in the castle you stayed in! Don't you love gay men? So hospitable, clean and sweet. I loved the B & B. Can't believe the horse steps! How about the narrow little streets? I'm so happy you are seeing the real Italy - the little towns that haven't changed much in so long. How memorable. And even a parade! Wendy certainly pointed you in the right direction and took good care of making arrangements, etc. I love her!

Ancient history - From: Pompeii, Italy
Again, to see something so ancient that you have read about - awe inspiring! Thank you for all the pictures - I feel like I was there for a brief spell. And to think the volcano is still active. How terrifying it must have been for the people when it erupted and rained down rocks and lava. I'm sure many thought it was "god's wrath"! Just like some people today think 9/11 and Hurrican Katrina were caused by an angry god. Not so different.

I am laughing my way all through your blogs beautiful..and have to thank you for taking the time to write them. Wow! You are getting so much more relaxed about just floating your way across Europe..yeah! Viviana is from Milano. Her brother is a lawyer there. Last name is Sormani. Glad you're finding handsome men to hang with..those Italians are so gorgeous and LOVING THE GIRLS! As they should..especially a beautiful blonde such as yourself. I love the photos and stories. Sounds like polo is being good to you as it was to me. Give Caroline a hug when you see her and enjoy your trip. Keep the blogs coming..you make my nights! I love you more than all that fresh bread and olive oil and basil I'll bet..Viviana always tells me the Italian food here is shit. Real Italian food is fresh, veggies are crunchy, and sauces are light. Sounds like you are experiencing exactly that and I'll tell her! Love you, love you, love you...Aunt Kim

What a beautiful place. And how glorious to walk the streets of such a famous town. Loved the observation on the yacht owners - aren't they funny? The very rich are different and, I think, pretty weird. I'm glad you get to try the best food items - or at least the best in someone's opinion. You look wonderful as doCaro and Virginie. Rochelle is a great addition to the group of lovely ladies. Wish I could be there, but I almost feel like I am. I love you.

Port Grimaud - From: Pool, Jeanne, and Port-Grimaud
First - love the pool. Looks like a lap pool - Kim's dream- just swim laps forever! I love Port Grimaud. I see why you would want to spend more time there. Wonder how the buildings last with the water so close? Yor friend Jeanne is attractive and sounds like fun. And now, on to Italy. More friends to make and places to see and food to try. Go to the little Trattoria's in Italy - they are kind of like our coffee shops I understand. More reasonable and owner run, etc. I'm going to check to see if I missed any blog entries while Brooks was here. I swear, summer is my busiest time. Did your mom tell you about Brooks' car. New but no amenities - stick shift, manual windows, etc. I guess it has a radio and hopefully air conditioning! Have a great time in Italy. I love you.

Loved the pictures and narrative. I'm so glad you are making the most of your time there, and itn't it wonderful you have some women to enjoy it with? You look wonderful - the hard work doesn' t seem to dim your smile. How beautiful the Mediterrean is and how exciting to actually swim in it! Sounds like American food at the fair with a little French flair. I'm going to make my mushroom and barley soup this morning. Have mushrooms and want some good soup. Beach Bunnies! - From: Saturday at the Sea
Oh my Goodness, I loved this blog. I read it with your mom and we laughed and it made us feel like you were there on the beach with us. I can picture Caro and Virginie not even knowing the places you do. You are a seeker though and believe me, as you know, working with the horses is all consuming. Not much energy left to explore. That's how it was for me traveling all those years. If there was a tournament, I didn't get much chance to just hang which I am so glad you are doing. Brooks is here for another week. Kayla and your mom drive home this morning. Then I go back to work! Hugs to everyone. Aunt Kim

I guess it would be crowded there at the height of the tourist season. Kind of fun when you aren't stuck in traffic, huh? At least the food and friends are good. It looks beautiful and so do you. Your friends are all very attractive - the poor grooms - all you beautiful young women around and all you have energy for are the horses and food! Pic-nicking on the beach at St. Tropez - is that a dream? Sonice to talk to you last night altho' you seemed pretty sleepy! Hello Kerissa. Wow-wee. What a gorgeous place. I love the pictures taken from the front porch. You are so lucky to be in France, though I know it's no easy task working. Our stupid computers haven't been working so it has been difficult to get to your blog and emails but I finally managed. This week has been laid back and relaxing. Mom and I and maybe Meg are going down to visit Kim this weekend, so that should be fun. And we have made up our minds, we are switching to Seahorse! I'm so excited. The Fitzhugh's are switching too. So long Kristina! Anyways... I'll call you tomorrow. I'm gonna go ride Kelly's horse. Love you so much.

Hey, beautiful, For some unfathonable reason I never saw this blog before. I was checking all of them and came to this one and realized I hadn't seen it before. I think it's because I always start with the latest entry and apparently missed a coupleof days somewhere - who knows. Anyway, I loved seeing the polo club and the pastures and your scooter! Actually it looks like a little motorcycle to me. I knew you would get the hang of things in a short time. Glad Caroline got the message about the food! Only Kim could tell her. I guess you are in St. Tropez by now - how exciting. Can hardly wait to get your blog from there. I love you and miss you, Grandma

Dining in Paris - From: Second Trip to Paris
I loved the second visit to Paris. The Louvre is a full weeks tour from what I've heard and from the pics of the outside. I'm so glad you got to see so many of the landmarks (Le Arc de Triomphe, the Jardin Tuilieries, etc. Paris is known for it's parks and trees and the wide boulevards. The food looked and sounded wonderful. I understand you can get great values at the street markets. Next time you go you can look for some trinkets or books or something for yourself. Why won't you be going to Paris for some time? Lynn and I are going to Macy's to get some pants for her and then to see the movie "The Visitor". We'll eat sometime in between there. I'll write more later. I love you, xxxoooGrandma

Crepes - From: Mail Box & Creperie Restaurant
In teresting the little differences in the way things are done, huh? I guess our crepes are modeled more on a sandwich or something. the dessert ones sounded particularly wonderful. Of course crepes are considered pancakes in France somaybe that's why they served the stuff on top of them? Tell Caroline the mail box is particularly beautiful! I've never seen such a stylish one and they should treasure it.. send me the address ASAP. Lynn is here. Your mom came over and we went to PJs on second street for lunch. April and I split a pizza and Lynn had a chicken etc. salad. It looked really good. THEN WE WENT TO SWEET JILLS and brought home some cinnamon roles. (I thought of you while we were choosing) Supposedly for breakfast but we've already eaten a bit of ours! I'm going to fix the vegetables and rice I cooked on Sunday for dinner. I think Lynn is a little tired - think she took a little nap while I was in here. I always write comments on your blogs so if I don't - I missed one! I love you.xxxooo Grandma

Paris - From: City of Paris
How wonderful to go with you on your first tour of Paris. You took in the city and the food which are the heart of France! The little house in Versaille was beautiful - all antiques and so French!! Lovely yard and I loved the cute little BBQ - so much more space efficient. I'm sure you have read about the Palace of Versailles. I think it was one of the King Louies ( there were several I believe) who ruled at that time and it was only one of his castles. I believe the gardens around it are also world famous. the next time you go out that way maybe you can see it. Extremely oppulent - way too much extravagance while the peasants were living in hovels and starving. This extreme difference in life style eventually brought on the French revoltion. I believe they celebrate this on Bastille Day which is July 14th I think. Ask Caroline and Virginie about it. To me it is another example of a country failing because of greed on the part of the rulers - in our case substitute corporate capitalists for kings. Not a good sign. I loved the picures - makes me want to see it all but livingi t through you is next best. I love you, ENJOY AND KEEP ON BLOGGING!

Love Your Blogs - From: Last Weekend
OMG Kerissa! Your blogs are hilarious! Just reading about the food made me die...both from laughing and from internally puking. But the party food sounds delicious. I'm jealous about the desserts. Haha. You know me...I love my sweets, but don't we all? Nothing too amazing has been going on here. The kitten (now called Paris for you) is adorable and sooooo friendly. The ponies are good, lots of work in lessons, but both are doing well. I will let you know how ETI and Las Amigas go. I am so glad you got to go on a trail ride. Those are the best of the best. I just got my hair trimmed today and Mom, Meg, Bree, and I went to the Botanical Garderns for a picnic. It was so pretty, but really hot. Yesterday, Camille and I went to Second Street and then the beach. We had a lot of fun. I am probably going to Lake Havasu with her in August, but I have to see when Mom and I are going to look at colleges. So that's about it. Summer stuff. But it's so nice to have to worry about school (one B and six A's), but still...I had to work for everything. I love you so much and think about you every day. I miss you tons! XOXOXO.

Peanut butter - From: Caroline's Birthday
I don't think peanuts are grown in Europe. They were originally grown in Africa (and still are) and we grow a lot of them in the South. I believe it was that famous black guy, Luther Burbank, who developed the peanut for agricultural use in the states. I could have the name wrong. Anyway, that's probably why they don't have peanut butter in France. You might be able to find some in an"American" shop in Paris. Like we have specialty shops here for foreign food including English delicacies!!

I was laughing my butt off about your scooter fiasco and how Caroline handled it. She's so busy and wrapped up, she forgets how it was when she first came over here. What a goofball! You're doing great..hey, only got lost one time? Get a map of your local city if you can. Find a bookstore, the help there usually can get you what you want. Marcos and Christine sound great..ask them if they can get you a map or whatever. How's Caroline's team doing? Are they winning or are they even playing tournaments? Are you getting enough to eat now? Does she have a barn there with an area to clean tack etc? Is it cold? Should be getting warmer I would think? Playing this a.m. at 7:30, previewing homes for a Sat. showing, then heading out with Karen for a drink at The Tackroom. You're doing great and each week will get better for you..and more familiar! I am so proud of you and I miss you lots. Your Aunt Kim

Buffalo Bill\'s in France - From: Caroline's Birthday
Sounds like you are seeing some of France. Glad you have had an opportunity to get to know Caroline better. She sounds like an interesting person. Amazing how well you are getting along with your limitted French. Virginia's mom and dad sound great. NO PEANUT BUTTER! How will you survive? I've heard that the French buy fresh bread every day - I guess it's all white bread? Different than at home, huh? Love the pictures and all the details. I can see you in the super market and at dinner. I'm sure you will meet a lot of interesting people there and can't wait to hear about it all. Keep blogging! I miss you and am so glad you are having some fun, too. Here's a big hug(......) from your grandma. I love you.

your adventure - From: Trek to Dourdan
It sounds like you had quite an adventure there on your own in France. Even getting lost is exciting in a foreign country, huh? the main thingis you managed to make new friends and find your way home. So- you set out for an adventure - all glammed up - and ended up getting lost and having a good dinner and making your way around with the help of the locals! Pretty funny. I kind of suspect Caroline thinks a lot like a man which you will have to allow for whenasking directions, and everything else! Next time you will be more comfortable asking for help in your limited French - people loveto help - especially a pretty girl. I love you and wish I could hug you. Kim went home today. I did my excerzes and showered and that's about all I have accomplished so far today. It's now 2PM here. Keepme posted on your further adventures!
