YUCK! Who likes cold? Why do people WANT to live in Canada in the winter? I am freezing and it is only ZERO. ZERO. ZERO. Ahhhhhhh! Glad I have a wood furnace. I cannot imagine what is going to happen to me when REAL winter sets in... and it is going to set in for you so much sooner! Pete is back in BC... now I have time to be on the computer :0) for fun! He is hoping to go up to Inuvik for work this week.... he has headed to Ft. Nelson, then Ft. Liard and we'll see where he is taken next! He is excited about the traveling NORTH... not sure why... but whatever! I told him that if he ever gets to go to Yellowknife he better check in! Well... gotta run... cough so hard this morning I think I pulled a muscle near my lungs. Ttyl

Goat Transportation - From: Swakopmund – Walvis Bay
Ok... so yesterday morning Josef (my yard guy... the one whose wife dropped dead on the Friday before you arrived!) showed up at the house... he said he needed to buy a little Bok (I was thinking Springbok...) to feed the family for the funeral which will finally take place 2 weeks later! So I got ready and took him around town (unfortunately it was a holiday... so no meat stores open)... then he decided that we would drive out into the BUSH (with my car... oh if only it was our 4x4!!!), to find his BOK... it was a GOAT! Anyway, we come to this farm and he goes and picks his goat (ALIVE) and ties a leg and puts it in the back of my car (ALIVE)! I paid for it (with the money from those WONDERFUL UK volunteers! God will bless them!!!) and off we went with this WAILING goat in the back of my car, flopping around, kicking things, wailing, crying, pooping... yes POOPING all over the back! :0) THIS IS AFRICA! Well the family was happy... and I came home and had some of the hundred kids who are staying at the house, clean out the car!!! HA! Ok there are only 10 now (just saw 2 more heading over there on my way here!!!). Pete is in the north again with Joe (finishing up the tiling of the Ark!), its just me and a houseful of kids! Don't you wanna come back!?!?!?! Catch you later! Charlene

Thanks for the GOOD TIME while you were here, you two! It was a PLEASURE to have you! Come again sometime and we'll go to STEVE's for some SEEfood (maybe it does sound like CHINESE?)! HA! I managed to find a place to get the rock chips repaired (AMAZING!!!)... it was in the basement of a parking garage, in a dark corner, but they did a fine job (not to Canadian standards... but DONE...)! Kids have settled down a lot (not sure why they were so freaky while you were here... but believe it or not they have calmed down a little... I have had 5 extra kids at my house for the last few days and they asked if they can stay a little longer :0\ We'll see!). Well, no more chasing Oryx, Kudu and whatever those other ones were for a while now... or RABBITS!!! Keep in touch! Love Charlene

Thanks for the up dates, they are always so good to read. Dakotah you know I love pictures, so my suggestion for souvenirs is pictures! Maybe to wind down after your return putting together some scrap books as gifts would be nice. Mitchell was in a play last week and his class sang YMCA. Mitchell dressed in his Regalia and Dad and I made him a War Bonnet with Goose feathers. (Head Dress) I actually braided his hair in two braides, and yes he told me it hurt when I was doing it! I know that Dad mentioned the dog formely known a Zoey in his comment, well we got a puppy! She will be here next week, she is still breast feeding now, so we think we are going to name her Violet. She is sooo cute, you will love her more than Bandit, I know it! Love you SOOOO much Deed, xoxoxoxoxoxo

It sounds like a pretty neat Park & I hope your able to bring back pictures of it. I do know that Clayburn Industries here in Abbotsford sends alot of Brick to South Africa. I guess if it were August the temperature would be alot different than it is now or is this their warm time. Well we are getting close to our time together... I am so thrilled with how God has been working in your lives, using you and teaching you! We are excited to have you, and I am sure you will have a chance to experience something different but also perhaps it will be good just to have some time to wind down and it may render some help to re-entery into Canada. This will be the most difficult part of the trip... going home! We'll talk more about that when you get here... until then, we'll be praying for safety and peace in saying good-bye (or see you later, as we like to say here! Too hard to say goodbye). Thinking of you... - From: Isaiah’s Umuzi Wothando
Hi Kelly and Dakotah Thanks for sharing about Isaiah's Home of Love. It was heartbreaking. We really don't know what is going on in other parts of the world, do we? It must be hard to witness what you have seen with the babies and children living in the home - yes, you must want to hold them in your arms and let them experience a caring gentle touch and pray that somehow it lasts a lifetime for them, or at least until some family adopts them. There are so many needs, blessings on you for making a difference to those children. Mathew 25:40 says 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' It's one of my favorite scriptures and it applies so well to your missions trip....Take care and God Bless, love Sandi

Hello again - From: Dakotah's Blog
Hi you two. Just catching up on your blog - all so heartfelt and the way you tell it is amazing - I feel like I am there with you. We are all doing well - we had a wonderful Easter at Gateway, made even more special with the baptism of Diane and Tim - how exciting for both of them. Then this weekend some of the men got together to help Ted out. We are raising money for a new trailer for him to live in, and today the men cleaned up his lot at Monte Lake for the new trailer to be moved onto. It was a big job! Also, youth has started up, and Jared had a full page feature written up in the Daily News about it, as well as our hot dog lunches. It was an awesome article - now let the teens come and fill the space! Sending a hug, take care and God Bless! Praying for you as you continue your journey! Love Sandi

Is there telephones there wouldn't that be cheaper Kelly, the cell phone requires Towers it's hard to imagine towers in that area but there must be. Kotah you weren't eating these bunny size easter eggs were you. We think that your doing such a good job there & in life it to our best interest to something for someone at one point or all the time this world would be a better place. We met up with Mom & Dad on Monday on their way back from Salt Spring Island. As for all this expensive gas. A year ago I read an artical about a race car driver who invented a compressed air car. This would get a hundred miles to the gallon & the factory was suppose to be in South Africa. We love you both & stay warm & safe. Love Auntie & Uncle.

We had a snow fall here on the 2nd - From: Another Day- Rain
Hi Kotah & Kelly This trip to Feta must be an adventure & even more so with a wet butt, what type of vehicle is this & is there such thing as a back seat. All this fancy food your having must make a Mac Donald burger sound good, I don't know if I could bring myself around to eating intestines. I'm impressed on how much typing your doing it is like the stamina that one needs to keep up a full page journel. We had a snow fall, the flakes we're huge. You guys stay safe love you both Auntie & Uncle.

Your brother misses you! - From: Dakotah's Blog
Bandit had a Huge tick on her forehead and we thought it was a wart, then it fell off and Mama sat on it! Then we noticed that it had legs and it was a tick. The tick's here on the island are different than the one's in Kamloops. Gramma is coming here for Easter. Did you take your Jack Sparrow hat and pirate madalion that we bought at Disneyland with you to Africa? My hair is so long now that it is half way down my back. I got a new stuffy and it is a Pug! Dad beat this new game called "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter". Do you want to try it when you get here this summer? Do they celebrate April Fools Day there? If so, did you fool anyone? Do they drive Jeeps? Dad would like that! Bye Kodah, Love Mitchell xoxoxoxoxo

This service that you perform... - From: Chipangali and A breazy Church
The experiences you are sharing with us are amazing. We need to hear more about how the other 2/3 of the world lives; our hearts need to hear that message from people like you - people we work, live, and worship with - people we trust and love to give us that news. It’s especially encouraging to know that you care so deeply for people everywhere - we know because we’ve served with you and saw you give your hearts to those here at home facing hardships locally at the PIT Stop. Hopefully many here at home will also move forward with active compassion for what you have done and what you have shared, and respond by sharing their time, talents, and resources. Thank you for advocating for our brothers & sisters in Africa. May God continue to keep you safe and bless your time there. Our love, Patrick & Joan 2 Cor 9:12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

You are great - From: Another Day- Rain
I Kel, every time I read your updates I think you and Dakotah are doing and on such an amazing journay. Hope you are taking lots of pictures. The people you have met sound that they enjoy both you and Dakotah's help and generosity . Keep going and I am a very proud aunt Love to both of you Aunt Laurel From: Charlotte Austin To: Charlotte Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2007 11:00 AM Subject: Fw: e-mail prayer Hello Everyone, I was asked by a very special friend of a friend to help a teacher who is using an e-mail prayer as part of her religion class. It was difficult for me to decide who I thought would DO this. I hope I chose the right eleven. Please send this back to me. (You'll see why.) There is nothing Attached. Just send this to eleven people. Prayer is one of the best gifts we receive! May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let His presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us. Now, send this to 11 people within the next 5 minutes and remember to send this back... I count as 1... you'll see why. Suggestion: copy and paste, rather than forward

School Supplies - From: Another Day- Rain
Hi Richard, School supplies are for sure something that the families struggle with. Unfortunately the mail quite often gets "sidetracked" if you know what I mean. I don't want to talk too candidly until I am home. Generally they probably won't get here. You would be so great at this work Richard. I do hope that you get to bless people with your heart soon too. Take care. and feel free to e-mail me. I think I have the thing figured out now.

Kelly, I am so glad to read about the things that are going on for you. It is very moving to hear your perspective. Is there anything that you guys need/want. I can mail the school supplies and things if you get an address. Will that work? The things you do may help a little now, but they will help alot later when others read and see what things are like there. You are doing a great service. I wish i was with you guys and was seeing the same things.

Hi, Kelly & Kotah - From: Water Fuel and Disabled Kids
There are no words to say how proud we are of you. I cry every time I read of your jobs for God. Should I send the park ranger a fishing rod & reel? If yes, send us an address and I will see if we can make it happen. You are both in our thoughts and prayers every day. Dad. We are on our way to Saltspring today. God is so good and I know you are safe. Keep your armour on. Ephesians 6:14-18. See if you can bring back the words and music to some of the songs you are learning. We are blessed by your messages and what you are doing. Dakotah, your comments are so descriptive. We love to hear every detail. Oh, the price of gas is $1.05/litre. Love you both, Mom & Dad

Hi Kelly & Dotah I just finished reading from back around the 23rd I added some coments as I went along. This water problem, they can have free of charge some of our BC rain. We sure had plenty. Are you bringing Noma back with you, of course I know the answer to that. That Idea of getting Dorothy's email is great knowing you, Dorothy would gain alot. It's 10:04 here at the moment what is it there. I liked the up the tree trick by Kotah in the game of Hide & Seek who would think. As for the price of gas just awhile ago on the news they told us that gas prices are rising & in some places it's $1.20 a litre out here it's & 1.04 I take it Kamloops wouldn't be to different. It would sure be nice if the States could spend half of their war buget in Zambabwe. It's great that your having such a good time I hope that you don't end up drinking the water there that would be Montezuma's revenge. Lot's & lot's of love Auntie & Uncle.

Things to be grateful for - From: Maputo - National Park
Hi guys! I am so happy to read that you've been having all of those amazing experiences (I've just caught up with everything today; sorry that I haven't responded sooner). I was relieved to hear that your airplane trips happened without negative events to speak of. I am curious how you will bring home any souvenirs if there is no room in your suitcases to put them? LOL Try not to feel down about not understanding your purpose there yet, it will come to you eventually; even if you subtly affect one person's life you will have done well, and dutifully served the way you have hoped to. Remember that you are physically in Zimbabwe and that in itself is probably more than you could ever have hoped for previously; therefore you have conversely managed to serve already. I am positive that you have already touched the hearts and lives of many people there. I’m sorry that the e-mail (telephone) system has you feeling isolated. Please be comforted in knowing that we are all thinking of you constantly, and that we are with you in your heart. As for the picture not turning out, the memories will remain like little movies playing for your own private screening anytime you want them too! ;-) Lots of love to you both, Christine

With you in prayers - From: The second Big blog Caught up now
Hey, Good to read what is going on for you both. Sounds like quite the culture shock indeed. Keep on struggling and you will find the path that God desires you to be on. Things may not appear as we like and/or planned. Sometimes God has different plans for us than the ones we made for ourselves. Stay open minded, open to the Spirit and you will find your way. You remain in my prayers. Dana
