Another good one, Mike. Some particularly good photos and the panoramas are stunning as usual. David

Chasing serenity
This location draws people seeking meditation and enlightenment. Sorry to hear it has become a bit of a tourist event. But-- sounds like you had a great time. Love the Beatles references. I would enjoy the music in this area.

Following in The Beatles' footsteps
I think Rishikesh was known for its vibe by Indians even before The Beatles made it so popular with Westerners. Without doubt, though, this is now a more relaxed and touristy place than the other holy cities we visited. Strangely, we didn't hear a lot of their tunes while we were there - although I have reminded myself since returning of how clever their music was (and still is).

Memorable
History, tradition, ritual, devotion, blessings, and so much more in vibrant India. Thanks for taking us along.

The sadhu
Thank you for allowing me to take you to holy Haridwar. it's a seriously religious place, but encounters with people like that sadhu make it memorable for reasons other than its holiness. Interestingly too, although I didn't mention it in the blog, my brother and I had dinner with the family who owned the hotel - not in their hotel, but at their home - making our visit to Haridwar even more memorable.

Nice one!
Hello Mike, Another great blog from a master of Indian travel. Your vast experience of this delightful country shines through in every word. Wonderful panoramas too! Thanks for sharing. Big brother, David

'I’m So Tired' , 'Good Night'...
...Words from the end of each day of our adventure perhaps? No, just more appropriate tracks from The Beatles White Album! I know I should be finishing the financial accounts, but I have reminders on paper for them - and I need to write some blogs before the memories fade.

Mesmerizing
Wow neatly written and well described , you made my soul travel with your words
12th March 2018

Travel is good for the soul...
...and that's what Rishikesh is about, I guess. Many people go there to 'find themselves' We went there on our spiritual journey mainly because of its proximity to where the Ganges begins, but found it relaxing and interestingly different to other holy places. I haven't seen a blog from you for a year or so - have you been tied to your desk? Oh, and look out shortly for my Bandhavgarh blog -we loved it. Have you been there again since your visit a few years back? Keep smiling!

Amazing moments

Temple at Har-ki-Pauri at sundown

This tour was full of amazing moments...
...so many, in fact, that we didn't have time to write blogs! Perhaps the programme was a bit over-ambitious for two men with a combined age of 155 years, but it was the only way to see so much in just a month. Now that we're home, the hard work begins - not sorting the thousands of photographs and writing even more thousands of words, but remembering what on earth we crammed into every day!

Old Mother Ganges
Yes, Mike, you paint it as it is. Only time will change the lives of those who so revere this ancient river, and a new passion for education so evident today can only accelerate the process. Want to borrow my rose-tinted spectacles? Thank you for sharing your great love of this country with me. Big brother, David

It had to be said
Our tour was filled with happiness, but I had to express my feelings about the sad plight of this holy river. Now I've said it, I won't need to repeat it in future blogs. Muskarate raho!

We may be in the autumn of our years...
...but there’s always a spring in our step! Alas, we’re always on the go and this has delayed our blogs. We will catch up eventually, but that may not be until after our month in this amazing land.

I’m with you in spirit
Thanks for another vibrant blog. But pace yourselves! I’m exhausted just reading about all your wonderful visits, sights, experiences, etc. Looking forward to the next one.

We could do with some spirit...
...most of the holy places have been 'dry' and now we both have colds. What we need is a hot toddy - with whisky

Wonderful and so atmospheric

This time, I'll be with my birder brother!
You already know that, while I photograph birds, I often don't have a clue what they are. However, I'm delighted to be taking my big brother David with me this time and he's much more knowledgeable about such things!

A master plan from the planning master. Packing almost complete. Fantastic panoramas, presumably from you old G7. Now, there’s a challenge! Big brother, David

Two weeks today, we'll be in Delhi...
...but only if the plan actually works! Two of the panoramas were taken on our 2013 trip (Lumix G5) and two were from my 2017 visit (G80) - but, yes, most were taken on your G7. Can't wait to be in my favourite country with my favourite big brother!
