Today is the Fourth of July and were in New York! I've had a really good time here, its been busy busy busy, can't believe in 3 days Ill be home and our 6 month adventure will be over! On one hand I'll be sad that its over (and I have to come home to the real world and find a job!) but I can't wait to come home and see everyone, sleep in my bed, eat my mums cooking, have a shower in my power shower... So New York - I've been spending the last of my money - its so hard to resist the holiday sales and the outlet shopping! Plus being allowed 60KG baggage allowance back home doesn't help! Were staying with Patrice's uncle in Long Island which is cool. On the first ... read more

We had a good time in Barbados and although the beaches were amazing (bright blue sea and white sandy beaches) I prefered St Lucia - I think its because St Lucia was a lot less touristy - Barbados was just full of english tourists! We stayed in St Lawrance where all the nightlife goes on but didn't even go out that much as were so exhausted from the last 6 months of travelling - its really catching up with us now! We did some more scuba diving but it wasn't that great as the current was really strong and we were exhausted before we even went down ino the water. And the reef wasn't the best although we did see 2 turtles which was really cool but other than that, nothing too exciting (I don't think ... read more

Having a good time in St Lucia although the weather hasn't been great for the last 2 days - it rained all day yesterday! Mexico was fun - the week went by so quickly, I really don't know where the time went. We spent most of the time relaxing by the pool and the beach and just chilling out really. We did one day trip where we did some jungle walking, absailing, fox flying and walking up the pyramid. We also went to this club called Fat Tuesdays and I didn't realise it would be on the beach and stupidly wore heals - and not just any heals but my new Nine West shoes!! As it was Summer Break though we felt like we'd invaded it - there were just lots of 18 year old Americans ... read more

Having a great time in Mexico - although the weather hasn´t been too great, today its been cloudy all day and it even rained - think they´re approaching rainy season here. But other than that, the foods great, the people are nice, its easy to get around and its hot! We´re staying at Hotel Margaritas which is in Downtown Cancun so we have to take a bus to the beach but it was about a tenth of the price than staying in the hotel zone on the beach and the hotels nice, clean with a TV and it costs about 40p to get the bus. The beaches here are beautiful, probably some of the nicest we´ve been to so far on our trip - white sand, amazing blue clear sea - the only thing missing at ... read more

Got to Miami this afternoon after the worst flight. American Airlines are probably the worst airline we've been with so far - they didn't even give us anything to eat (although they did offer a 'Snack Bag' you could purchase for $4!!) - just one drink and I had tea that tasted like feet! Plus we were next to these annoying group of americans (about 7 of them) who spent the whole of the nightflight standing up next to me in the aisle chatting so loadly that I didn't get any sleep! Then we had to get 2 buses to get to the hostel which took well over an hour and when we got to the hostel it was horrible - probably the worst hostel we've been to - our room in like a prison cell ... read more

Viva Las Vegas! Had the best time in Vegas - really loved it and so far its my favourite part of America! And you'l be glad to hear I didn't gamble all my money away (it was hard as the lights kept calling me!) We spent 2 nights at the Sahara which was on the top of the strip and it only cost $37 for a room (which was less than 15 pounds each!) It was such a bargain and the hotel was really nice (although after staying in hostels for the last few months any hotel would have been nice!) We got there in the afternoon after the worst bis ride ever. We got the Greyhound and apparently when prisoners leave prison the first thing they get is a Greyhound bus pass (a girl told ... read more

Its our last day in San Francisco today after spending 3 nights here. Its been fun, much nicer than LA but I still don't care too much for America! We didn't know what to do on our first day here so made the mistake of going shopping and again bought a few things - the daily budget isn't going too well these days! But we did find some good sales in Nine West and Guess and I bought these gorgeous stilettos for $30 (about 20 pounds) and a Guess watch for the same price. Today I need to go and get a new bag as nothing fits in my old one anymore and the handle broke so going to China Town to find a cheap bag. The shops here are quite good though and we even ... read more

Los Angeles, and more specifically - Hollywood, was not what we expected. We expected glitz and glamour but that is certainly not what we saw!! There are lots of weirdo's there and its pretty unglamorous really! When we got to LA we stayed at Venice Beach for one night (after spotting someone from America's Next Top Model at the airport - Celeb spot number one! I don't watch it so have no idea who he was but Patrice got quite excited!) On the first day we went shopping on 3rd Street Prominade in Santa Monica where we bought a few bits (we've been living in beach clothes mainly since we've been travelling so needed to glam up!) then the next day we went and stayed in Hollywood right by the Walk of Fame (which goes on ... read more
