Capsule hotel
Hello Sherma! Its called waterfront capsule hotel, its 2700 Yen a night and its near asakusa station on the asakusa and ginza lines. There is a shared onsen baths on the top floor and free internet and a common room on the second floor. Get off the subway at Asakusa and you will see a bridge over the river. Don't cross the bridge, just take the road from here going along the river, you cant miss it. Have fun! x

Not sure about saving such a scary drowning person!
Ha well nice to know I can rely on you to save my ass when we are paddling then :P Yeah, river tracing came quite naturally to me, I felt like I had done lots of floating down rivers before...

Not sure about saving such a scary drowning person!
Kat, just in case you are ever in that situation, I think you should try NOT to pull that 'help me I'm drowning' face if you can help it. River tracing looks as sexy a sport as kayaking, but without the faff of carrying the canoe around in the first place...good idea. Was the water warm?

Phew
I'm glad that I'm not getting married in Taiwan - finding one dress was quite exciting enough for me and my Mum! Sounds like fun though - lots of food is usually good! And I do like the sound of having three weddings - why not eh?!

Hi there, thanks for the comment! It was shorts and tshirt wear all the time I was in Yangshuo, although it rained one day it wasnt cold. A sweater for the evenings is a good idea a most the bars has roof top terraces. And mosquito repellent, I didn't have a problem but there were mozzies around. Enjoy :)

Weather
Hi there, just a quickie. Comments about weather around Guilin/Kunming/Dali etc. We are arriving HK 08 April, and expecting nothing less that "comfortable" temperatures. Did temps fall much up at Lijiang?? From when you were there, we will be 6 weeks later. I guess spring was still passing through while you were there?

Haha well I took a Chinese cooking lesson, I can try and make something for you and Ollie one evening when I get home... can't be worse than my British cooking :P

Urgh!
Eek, you're brave! I'm not sure I'd have eaten a silk worm or a scorpion, and I'm not surprised you were dubious about the stinger! What did it taste like? Fancy a whole takeaway Chinese supper now, but probably a safe British one, not a scorpion in sight (I presume!)

Wow
Hi Kat, this looks utterly awesome. I'll bet your legs were quite tired after that day! Unbelievable scale of construction across such rugged terrain. Mandarin duck lake has made me hungry for crispy duck pancakes though.

Hiya, I've only just managed to read most of your posts - looks like you are having a fantastic time! Extremely jealous!! Keep up the posting - they're a great read on a freezing snowy morning =D Fredel

Mmm
Kat, you can definitely try that out on Ollie and me any time! Not so sure about panatone, but happy to try, and I've never made hot chocolate with condensed milk - inspired! Just sitting in the living room after making it home through the snow for the third day in a row - I need a hot chocolate now to warm up again! Very pretty, almost like we live in a ski resort, it's packed into most of the less-used roads and made most places incredibly icy. Odd to think of you sheltering inside from the heat on the playing field, though I hope it's cleared up by now so that the kids can show off their football skills (we played against the guys at the jungle lodge we stayed in and their team absolutely thrashed ours!).
