Commerce GA to Greensboro NC

Didnt like last night at all. Being in a motel was really strange and I was concerned about the camper and car were they safe and I was a little uncomfortable too. Funny how living in a campground in such close proximity of others I get a sense of peace and safety. Oscar was certainly on guard all night so it was better having him with me. I did sleep and the camper and car were fine so w

Heading Home I was up before dawn ready to hit the road but had to see what I was doing so it was coffee and wait. I was packed and headed for the sewer dump by 815 hoping I wouldnt have to wait too long in line. Surprise no line so I was done in no time went back to my sight got the leveling blocks and parked the camper down the road where I could hook up the car. All that was done and I w

Last Day on the Peninsula Didnt wake this morning til almost 8 and the sky was overcast with a little breeze. The temps were mild last night I didnt need the heater. Coffee was wonderful and enjoyed with leisurely pleasure. Great way to start the day. I decided to try the other bath house for a shower this morning. I have been having a shower in the old bath house and freezing myself to dea

Info on American White Pelican

It turns out that we were really privileged to have seen the American White Pelican. They are the largest native bird to North America weighing from 11 to 20 lbs its evident that they need a huge wing span to get that weight off the ground. The wing span up to 120 is second only to the California Condor. They can live up to 16 yrs in the wild. These birds summer in Alberta and North West

Its Warmer I set the alarm to take a picture of sunrise but didnt need it I just woke up. I had 2 cameras standing by didnt even have to get out of bed. Since I had and early start I thought Id try to do a load of wash. There is one washer and dryer for the whole campground so to find it not in use was wonderful. I put in one load just to have enough clean shirts to make it home. Th

Treasure Hunting The sunrise was beautiful but I couldnt make myself get out of bed to get the camera. Tomorrow I will set the alarm to make sure I capture it its worth it. At 4 am I woke and looked out and there were stars all over the heavens. It was 43 degrees so I was not heading outside in those temps to star gaze but decided if the weather warmed up at all I would make a point to see

Apalachicola Day The sun was shining and the sky was cloudless but boy was it cold The temp was 47 and there was a 35 mph wind from the northwest that had everybody snuggled in their camps.I took Oscar for a walk and had the hood up on my sweatshirt. We moved smartly.Since it was the middle of the week and not a beach day I decided to take a trip to St George Island. It too is a state park but ha

Take It Easy Day There was so much excitement yesterday that I thought Id take it easy today. I didnt get up til almost 8 and already it was 10 degrees warmer than it had been the morning before. The wind was coming from the south and decided to pick up again. It is too windy to fish or sail or boat most everything. So after a leisurely shower and breakfast Oscar and I set out on a walk. F
